If there is another economic downturn as is being experienced elsewhere, some of those wasted billions could have been put to work. Don't forget that Swann took over as treasurer with plenty in the bank. That's gone.My kids will be paying it of for years to come.Perhaps we should just borrow some more and fark the joint completely

If Labour gets in NSW we can kiss the lovely Aussie past time of fishing goodbye!!Bob Brown wants us to stop fishing - but his research is flawed | The Daily TelegraphBob and his loonies scare the crap put of me and it never ceases to amaze me how they have been able to slowly but surey get their way. Don't get me wrong I'm all for conservation but please BASE IT ON SCIENCE. This whole marine park approach is nonsense, if they would listen to science and learn from other countries we would stop the professional fishing of our rivers the nurseries of the ocean. That my rant

Posted 15/08/10 08:19 AM Share Posted 15/08/10 08:19 AM Interesting çomment about pay for the PM Buff.... The Lee family set up the Singaporean system so as the PM gets paid WELL - thinks it's about @$18Mill per year ATM - so (at their very attractive taxation rate) it a/ prevents corruption from occurring and b/ becomes hugely attractive for the real business brains of the country, not only the party fanatics adn wannabees. Your run of the mill politician also cracks a handsome Mill plus salary as well. And do they work hard to keep their jobs? You dam well bet your ass they do. Anyone that's been to Singers will know - that place runs like a Swiss watch. CAST YOUR VOTE FOLKS!!!! WE NEED A SAMPLE OF 200 BEFORE IT GETS REAL!!! I work in the mines, and am a union member, so read into that what you may. But, Labor got a pay increase for the lower income earners, LNP barred it off, Labour is pushing for a 12% Super rather than the 9% we have now, LNP is gonna sh*t can that too. Look at how Abbott came into power, when the mining companies couldn't get their way with the federal gov on their $10B ambit claim over emissions trading, they instigated a revolt against Malcolm Turnbull, abbott is now the mining bosses puppet.Working for BHP/BMA, It's been a huge talking point at work. BHP, Rio, Xstrata all reached an agreement to pay the tax. Does anyone seriously believe that the 3 biggest mining companies in the world would agree to a tax if it was bad for business? Tony Abbott owes his leadership position to the Mining bosses, so they will be demand more industrial relations changes. So, he'll hand them back their $10.5B, and owe it to them big time if he gets ellected, and 'work choices' will be back on the agenda.

Sounds like propaganda to me. Lets talk about Gillard's award simplification (supposedly...it's an absolute fcken joke) and how casual employees NEVER get overtime any more provided they get the necessary meal breaks. Just in case you missed it NEVER. 100 hours in one week...tuff titties you're just getting an ordinary rate sucker. This is just one pathetic example of the 'simplified' award that I'm dealing with, there are many more stupid little glitches, no specified rates for apprentices as a classic example so most people are just guessing and hoping for the best. Yet all the unions are remarkably silent on this. Their members are getting ripped blind yet because it's a Labor policy then all is OK?I've always had personal views on unions and how I believed they were all a bunch of parasites, recently this has been unequivocally confirmed. They had a time and place where they did wonderful things for the country in terms of IR, but that time is long gone and they are essentially money laundering machines to support Labor election campaigns these days.60 Minutes, Latham, Couldn't agree more.Don't get me wrong I don't like the bloke but damn he hit the nail on the head.He is/was an a-grade knuckle shuffler but agree with his point of view. Even funny that he dragged the original ranger in to his interview.

Posted 16/08/10 06:11 AM Share Posted 16/08/10 06:11 AM agree tab the last job I did was you work the hours we need you to but as casual we dont need to pay over time just the standard rate.As for the miming companies 3 out of how many hundred mining companies have signed an agreement on the tax.what about the rest that's right they dont count and my understanding from someone high up in one of these companies they have not signed anything it is still up in the air.Julia gillard is lieing to the australian public again.IanPS dont get me started on unions as I have seen them destroy companies and when the workers get sacked they have left them to fend for them selves.
