These 2 idiots have taken the promises by Dullard as gospel and something that she can deliver. Yeah right! Implementation is something Labor know NOTHING about. Or well thought out policies for that matter.

I have been astounded at how these 3 have gone about making their decision. Surely effective and considered decision making should take all valid opinions into account. Valid information should be looked at no matter where it comes from. NO WAY would I just rely on Treasury with their predictive record. But it would appear that in this case it has not. I think that they had no idea of the mental structure or framework to apply to reach an effective decision.

These 2 have now tied themselves to such a hopeless incompetent mob. They should be judged exactly the same as them next time around. What person who cares about outcomes can't see the train wreck coming?????

And now, Bob Brown is now effectively the deputy PM as she now has to holding weekly meetings with the nu**er.

Stable and effective govt will be very non existent with this "parliamentary peoples forum". Let the circular firing squad begin when it all starts to go south. Which won't be long.

Just heard an interview from the ISP's friend (NOT!!) Stephen Conroy that the ALP has to change the NBN rollout plans to give the priority to the bush, so they get the NBN first.

I mean FFS there is .0% of stuff all population in rural areas and they do not need the fibre speeds that we need in the city. He also said that if banks can charge the same for ATM's Oz wide, then he does not see a problem charging the same everywhere for NBN....

I am sure that if banks put an ATM in your house in the middle of nowhere, they would charge you a sh*teload more to install and maintain it. It just shows you this country is going to be run by MORONS until we get people who have a clue.

Not that I am against the broadband thing totally but why do we have to waste 40 billion plus dollars on sh*t like that and we have hospitals,roads and other stuff that needs doing.

Zap on your comment on the rural areas mate we have the right to same as you people in the cities do.

But we already payy more for most things in the country including basic services that you guys in the city take for granted.

I live in a town of 15000 people and can only get adsl not adsl2 but we get by.

You city people need to pull your heads in and stop thinking that you are the only ones that count.

There are more people living here than you think and guess what we supply most of what you guys eat and use in the city so think about that.

Agree with Goldie we need the farmers etc they do a fair bit for the economy & have it tough.

100mbps broadband speed is over the top though. I have adsl2+ & with distance from the exchange get about 7.6-7.8mbps speed (which is not all that bad for general web browsing & emails). With a cost of approx $1750 per head the NBN is not really value for money although it is actually good technology. Most people in the city don't require 100mbps so I don't know what people in rural areas would use it for.

Telstra has got new wireless technology with speeds of 20mbps, which is pretty fast. If this sort of coverage could be increased it would be quite handy.

Also bear in mind that a lot of web content we browse is not located in Australia but rather places like America. Having fast broadband is all well & good but if the server can't supply the info quick enough then you are still limited. There are a lot of servers that have trouble keeping up with adsl2+. I don't really see the advantage in spending so much money to have a world leading broadband network when the benifits aren't really justified at the moment.

heh I'm shifting out to the country where my only two connectivity options are 3G (spotty coverage) and 2-way satellite. Both are quite expensive when compared to the offerings available to those in the city. I'll be happy to have something that is not either of the former.

I have had plenty of people from the USA saying they cant understand why the OZ govt is wasting so much money and time on a fibre optic network when over there they have wireless internet with massive speeds that is VERY quick t get up and running and can get fast broadband coverage to everyone in Australia for a fraction of the cost of this massive fibre optic network.

I'm no expert but it makes sense to me.

On the political party side of things I have long been a Liberal supporter but I always look at the pros and cons of the representatives IN MY AREA before I worry too much about who the leader of the party is. I am happy to say the Liberal candidate in my area definitely got my vote as I didn't like any of the other candidates policies. How many of you actually considered what the members of your favoured party were saying they were going to do for YOUR area before you voted?

It is a constant disappointment to me how the Australian public is treated like a fricken idiot by the media and the political parties. They dont want you to THINK they just want you to get hooked up and carried along in their popularity contest between the two party leaders! WHAT A BLOODY JOKE!

Australian politics has slumped to a new low of mediocrity, stupidity and the public having the wool pulled over their eyes all together.

For all the retards that DONKEY vote - you know who you are - BLOODY STOP IT! dont you realise that the system is RIGGED towards all those donkey votes favouring the labour party?
