I love political debates.

WTF I can't work out is why anyone would vote for the Greens. Their leader is forever going around saying :gaypost: & how good it is to chain yourself to trees about to be cut down & walk naked in the rainforest.

:freak::nudie:

....& to cap it all the ranga is joining forces with them.

They should make Wilson Tuckey PM (the Liberal member for O'Conner). He hates speed cameras & vigorously contests his speeding fines in court. :spoton:

In the current financial environment I reckon we need Liberal in. Labor is only good at spending money not making it. With the ranga promising to get the budget back into surplus so quick she'll probably put a tax on farting or something to get the required funds.

Mr Rabbott is also promising to restore it to surplus in the same time but that's just pollie spin for people who are comparing apples with apples. If it's not feasable then they will delay it.

As for asylum seekers what would they do in Afghanistan & places like that if the positions were reversed? If they want to sink their boats so they are rescued who cares - use them for target practice & nobody will be any the wiser. :rl:

My say :buttrock:

My say :lurvedealer:

that's it as long as its not on the news no one will know. After they blow up 10 or so boats they will get the picture. The Ranga has NFI

Most articles I have read from anyone in the private sector who analyses the NBN, can see it as the big fat white elephant it is. The company I work for stands to benefit enormously from the project going ahead....but I still don't want it. A lot of people are saying take that $43bn and spend a little on internet and the rest on homeless, hospitals etc, but really, we don't own or earn one cent of that $43bn. It's not a matter of spend it better, it's a matter of do not spend it until you can afford it unless it's a necessity or a very profitable investment.

There is no doubt that this is a very rigorous debate. I will try and clear up what I think are points of contention. 1 Work choices was a policy that was to promote small business. I feel it was more about allowing business owners to expliot staff. If your ten years were up as an employee you could be sacked, therefore employer did not have to pay long serve leave. The list goes on, but in reality it made lenders nervous (banks) interest rates go up, simple economics. NBN means big bucks, why hasn't anyone worked out that these costs will be passed onto consumer. You will pay much more, why because you have already been told how much better it will be. The biggest question is why are we losing so many soldiers in Afganistan, and should they be there. No one is discussing this, Cheers

So What isn’t Stephen CONroy not telling us about the REAL COST of Labors NBN?

Take a look at the NBN pricing by ISP IInet and what Tasmanians will pay for the new NBN as of today.

Setup fee ($79)

In-home wiring ($180 - $300)

iiNet BoB™Modem unit ($369)

Plans down/up speed peak + offpeak Cost

NBN 1 25 / 2 Mbps 5GB + 5GB $49.95

NBN 2 25 / 2 Mbps 10GB + 10GB $59.95

NBN 3 25 / 2 Mbps 30GB + 30GB $69.95

NBN 4 50 / 4 Mbps 30GB + 30GB $89.95

NBN 5 50 / 4 Mbps 50GB + 50GB $99.95

NBN 6 100 / 8 Mbps 60GB + 60GB $129.95

NBN 7 100 / 8 Mbps 90GB + 90GB $159.95

Forgive me Mr CONroy, at the moment I have a Cable Connection with a speed up to 100bps that was connected to to my house for FREE with Peak Time Downloads 60GB + Offpeak 70GB and it Costs me $43.95 per month.

Your telling the Australian Public that you want to roll out a Optic Fibre to the Node Network at a cost of $43 Billion. Plus you have already written a SNEAKY new LAW that will allow your Govt. access to my home to rip out my existing Cable & Landline unless I sign a form telling you and your Socialist Govt. that I don’t want you too!

And your expecting me to me to pay approx $600 in setup fees and pay your Govt. $129.95/Mth for the privilege for the same service I am already paying $43.95/Mth for?

You’ve got to be KIDDING ME!!!

Compare the prices for yourself…
