I got a race style jack from ebay. was from a place in adelaide, and I can hardly lift it, so wouldnt recomend delivery interstate.

has twin pumps, extra long handle and only 6 full pumps to full height, which is 500mm. it will lower to 75mm.

there you go guys, sorry to leave you hanging. This jack will suit me fine as it is low for a far way along the nose of it so more of it will fit under the car.

hey guys,

Should have started this thread years ago as I been thinking, How many time have you gone to get your dodgy jack weather it be the ford stocker or a supercheap fong-chow special trolley jack just to swear at yourself cuz it hits against what u need to get under-neath...?? I do it weekly.. :roflmbo:

Been doing some noseying around the shops and enquiring at Bursons and such, and unless you wanna sell a kidney to science, these things are pretty expensive.

Im talking something along the lines of THIS

I like the way it doesnt start angling upwards until the jack would be atleast a good 300-400mm under the car, alot of the jacks ive been finding start to taper upwards only about 150mm after the contact surface, along the lines of THIS and THIS.

Getting into the chassis rails just wouldnt happen with a jack that tapers upwards.

So I was wondering, there seems to be a few guys on here into track days/ motor racing, maybe somebody knows of a good product maybe say Under $300 excluding postage with a minimum height of about 80mm that we could possibly do a group buy on?

I reckon there would be ALOT of people keen on this, as a quality jack can last a long time, and would be so handy it would be your favorite tool in the garage.

Oh one thing ive found after measuring a few, ALOT of the race jacks "claim" a minimum height of say 90mm, when u actually measure the buggers, their usually 8-15mm above their claimed height. So if you can actually find a decent jack, please check the height yourself before getting too excited.

what you think??
