hey guys need some help

I did have my center muffler removed, wth straight thru pipes. loved the sound (when warm)

but as my exhaust got damaged (insurance job) the exhaust shop recommened fitting a twin 2.5" catback redback system or fixing wat I had, but as I (DAD) wasnt too happy wth my exhaust on cold starts I decided to go wth the redback system, because the exhaust man said it would be quiter on start up, and also have a sweet note. now I have been driving the car for about 3 days now and yes its better on cold start up doesnt sound like a truck, but it doesnt seem to have that growl to it, under acceleration its not really that loud, more engine noise than anything, but at idle its not too bad.

will the exhaust note change?

has anyone got this redback system???

what can I do to get it louder? but still quite on cold startup

thanks guys

You could try one of those mufflers that has a switch for loud or quiet. It bypasses muffler for loud or flows through muffler for quiet using a valve to change flow.

Your idle is higher when it's cold so it will always be louder on a clod startup. More RPM = more noise.

Get your Dad some ear muffs.

Yep... RPM is higher when cold and the metal sounds tinnier till it gets warm...

I just removed the centre muffler and replaced it with 2 X 2.25 stainless resonators (hotdogs). Also replaced the standard oval tip with two straight cut dual layer stainless tips (2.5 inside dia 3" outside). Sounds fuggin great....nice and refined around town......and now it sounds like a proper sports sedan when you're up it!! :w00t2:
