Namely an F6 Typhoon.Im hearing different things around the forums though: Such as the prices of the FPV's dropping, thus making them more affordable.More people wanting to sell up to the latest "Coyote" model? (sorry, havent done my research into the FG's too much atm!)Others have their leases running out and thus upgrading. If that's the case, is it worth the upgrade to buy an 07/08 R-Spec over the F6?I really love silver. Id be thinking the lightning strike. The next colour -if the lightning strike isnt available- is the Ego.I was really surprised to see the amount of white BF FPV F6 Typhoon R-Specs on carsales. So, what are everyones thoughts and opinions on this?Cheers Wes
Worm A much better forum Silver Donating Members 3,808 Member For: 16y 5m Gender: Male Location: Victoria Posted 07/07/10 01:49 PM Share Posted 07/07/10 01:49 PM I thought the only came in a couple of colours... the mercury and white???R-Spec??? I think it was just upgraded suspension??? And maybe brakes???I would go an FG before I went BF as the value will hold better and they are a newer machine... Better dynamics and setup... Plus the fob range has bigger turbos than the xrt range so they can provide more boost..However if you can only afford a BF, I think it would be a great option... But if it was BF R-SPEC versus FG F6... FG all the way...

CETFLY Member 10 Member For: 15y 6d Gender: Male Posted 07/07/10 04:09 PM Author Share Posted 07/07/10 04:09 PM Cheers Worm.It is brakes, suspension, trim (top spec to leather with matching outer and interior trims as mentioned in this article here:FPV Limited Edition F6 R Spec Typhoon — Fords . com . au - Buy or Sell New and Used Fords. Ford Cars, XR8, XR6, Ford Utes and Ford Vans.So the FG F6 replaces the R-Spec in a way does it? Or does it only replace the BF II F6 Typhoon and not the Typhoon R-Spec.Why would the value hold better though? Cars depreciate the most in their first 2 years on the market. I would though, as an investment, the rarer the model, the less the depreciation. What has given them better dynamics and setup? Its an amazing looking car, that's for sure. The prices Im seeing are way outside what Im looking to spend though, so I wont be going that far. Still need to get a home loan organised too.I think I'll be able to get my hands on one by the end of the year when Ive saved some more cash and their prices have dropped some more. Im in no rush but want to get the perfect one when it comes on the market.Would people go auto or manual? Reasons behind that choice?Cheers Wes

CETFLY Member 10 Member For: 15y 6d Gender: Male Posted 07/07/10 06:16 PM Author Share Posted 07/07/10 06:16 PM Not so sure now that the FG F6 is basically completely superseding it and is better in looks, setup, the works....I also see from carsales and wiki that the FG F6 has 310kwAnd yes, the FG F6 does replace the F6 Typhoon, but doesnt specifically say it replaces the R-SpecIt does elude to the fact that it has R-Spec-worthy improvements in suspension, especially in the front, so I'd just go with it superseding the BF II F6 Typhoon and the R-Spec.FPV F6 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaWish I could afford an FG F6, but Im sure they dont go up in value or are as comfortable to live in as a house! aiboart Member 665 Member For: 19y 11m 7d Posted 07/07/10 09:32 PM Share Posted 07/07/10 09:32 PM The BF and BA suspension is the same for non R-Spec XR6T and FPV models. The R-Spec suspension has one point of difference with the standard suspension noted above. The difference is in the valve washer stack in what are otherwise standard two piece B series dampers. That is it. You can verify this for yourself. FPV has provided high level detailed public domain discussions as to the exact nature of R-Spec.The washer stack creates a new state of tune for the old style two piece dampers which replicates the damper tunes typically found in monotubes shocks. This digressive damper tune is exceedingly effective in improving the dynamic performance and the refinement of the vehicle, however, the double tube dampers used in the B series are no where near as effective in exacting that tune as monotubes shocks. Whilst FPV sought to use monotubes shocks for the B series R-Spec, twin tube shocks were retained purely for reasons of cost. Once again the is in the FPV public domain discussions. Monotubes shocks are however used throughout the FG range. There are different damper tunes used throughout the FG range. If purchasing an R-Spec or any other B series a thing to note is that the twin tube dampers used in the B-Series, including the R-Spec variants are likely to be worn out by about 40K km. Your choice is then to purchase the replacement OEM R-Spec dampers, or, to fit exceeding high end aftermarket monotubes running a very close analogue of the R-Spec digressive tune as developed by FPV for the B series R-Specs.The high end monotubes will in effect be executing the FPV R-Spec digressive tune, however, the high end monotubes will execute the FPV like digressive tune far better than and B series or even any FG series shock could dare hope.
