I have seen somewhere that the missing boot-lid liner was mentioned.

Again the Fairmont liner will do the job, and I think it finishes the boot off a lot nicer.

Picture attached. :P

Ninka,

Sound like we have the same ideas. Whats the cost of this one. I assume this is a simple as just pushing in the plastic tab bits to make it fit to the boot..

Ta.

The ford website lists the bootliner price as $135. Not a large price to pay to finish the car off niceley.

Although, wouldn't you reckon that on a car like this they would have included it anyway. It must onlny cost ford about 20 bucks if installed at the time of manufacture.

Hi Ninka,

Can you tell me if the car is any quieter with the liner installed?

One complaint l have had is that there is a lot of road noise for back seat passengers. l tell them they are lucky to be passengers at all :P l do notice a fair bit of tyre noise from the 18's though and this may be a good fix.

It does seem to help a little, but mainly with the exhaust resonance.

I am going to experiment with some heavy felt under the boot carpet, as there is no silencing material around the spare wheel well, only heat reflective shielding.

The boot liner for the roof is one of the first things I got for my car, I agree leaving it of is very cheap and nasty. Having the liner in there creates a much nicer finish to the car.

Liner part no: BA F46404 A1 - I got it for $40.91 + GST

14 retainer clips no: V 860213 S $0.41 ea + GST

Total came to $51.30 incl. GST and fitting it took a couple of minutes. There is even a hole for the boot release.
