bump...

I don't know what valve float feels or sounds like though. Can someone give me an example of the symptoms that failing/fatigued springs cause?

I think I will be doing mine soon in a BF Phoon. Tewantin to Cooroy rd yesterday with a full car ( luggage and passengers)flat 4th going into the cnr going up the hill flat changed 5th and started to get some valve float .

Better to do them IMO. First sign of any issues for me, full car , full load , full throttle and a steep hill.

Now where to get em done as I am not driving a 2000k round trip to CV ?

That would be Cooroy-Noosa road how fast where you going that is one nice hill, cheers

So the only symptom is bad idle after giving it a bit? Nothing while under power?

I've had rough idle at the lights after giving it a squirt, car is stock (except intercooler), figured it was a fuel shortage just for the moment. Not worried though.

Cheers, we'll see how I go. Wasn't as bad stock. Have been driving sedately this tank of juice and it hasn't happened so that's a good indication...

I've had similar problems & stalling when pulling up to the traffic lights & I have upgraded valve springs already. XFT are going to check it out when they get a spare 5 minutes so it'll be interesting to see what they find.

Looking on all the different forums nobody seems to have a 100% solution for this problem everyone has found different fixes. Things like dirty throttle body, faulty throttle position sensor, coils, injectors etc etc etc....

Bit frustrating when XFT first tuned it Simon had it running smoother than stock then this little problem crops up out of nowhere. :turboboink:

If anyone can fix it though I reckon they can so hopefully it helps answer a few questions.
