Hey guys.

I am looking at trading the old ba to get a BF MkII XR6T with the typhoon internals and the ZF6 instead of a T56 in my ba. Ive been told high 300's they are good for but I've also seen a fair few in the 400+ club. So what is the limit to this engine.

I'm only considering it because it has every option besides leather and a friend is selling it at dealer trade in price. Its stock standard but I will have a rapid 4.5 kit, 4" turbo back exhaust, 2.7L surge tank, 60lb injectors, ported wastegate, actuator and a Xcal3. Hoping to see 400rwkw or more and an mid 11s pass.

400rwkw will see more than a mud 11....

Auto will probably give up before bottom end... And turbo will run out of puff...

Mate its a gamble. But really the same bloody question that has been asked 6 billion times before, oh what power is this going to get me and will the car still be safe. You have read that other people push big numbers with certain set ups that other cars have failed with, if you are going to do it just do it be a man because no one who is sane will give you a guarantee. That is the reason this site has got stale same dumb questions repeated.

Yeh true, I dont know why im even asking lmao. I'll just leave it with danny springy again and I'm sure he will work his magic. He managed 310rwkw on my standard ba clutch and valve springs so I'm sure he can squeeze 400 out of this.

if you go for 400 then budget for a rebuild sooner rather than later. most guys have lost there engines at that power. leave her at 350 and you will have an awesome streetcar that will last, depending on your tuner & driving habits.

Too many variables mate...

Its all in the tune, depends how much your your tuner is going to lean on the engine.

Of course it can be done and we have seen countless people making 400+ or close to 400 with the F6 bottom end, but there are also those whose engines have given way too...

Sounds like your gonna have all of the supporting mods to get there though!

I'll see how I go once I get everything underway. Wouldnt mind some forgies and a GT42 but the bank wont allow that at the moment.

im on 350rwkw same motor, but a built auto. so far so good :) tunehouse gets 450rwkw+ out of em, but us melb boys tune it differently so 400rwkw you might get after you upgrade turbo/manifold.
