Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has any pictures they can post up of installing a wideband autometer air/fuel ratio meter. Even if anyone can answer where the wires go in my bf xr6t. Or where the sensor needs to be installed. Thanks guys. Oh and I understand the sensor needs to be installed just at the down pipe of turbo but where exactly and how??

Thanks.

I would say at the dump pipe mate... There is a oxy sensor in the same spot... I dunno what you would do... Might need to get your dump drilled and screw it into it??? I don't know if you could run the two sensors in line, or just splice into the existing sensor???

I got a second bung welded into the dump pipe. you can buy my spare dump pipe for $50 and get it welded/coated so your car isn't off the road if you want.

btw, existing 02 sensor is narrowband so you can't use that. with some wideband setups that have multiple outputs you can just replace your stock 02 sensor with a wideband sensor and connect one of the outputs to your factory wiring.

as for wiring, the wideband gear should have a diagram.

my LC-1 kit was easy to install. the controller sits in the engine bay. it has a long multi-core cable which goes up to the traction control switch where I have made connections to the gauge tripod and to the ciggie lighter socket anyway.

no worries, bought a spare dump pipe so I could get it ceramic coated and welded so it would be a straight swap with my standard one.

$40 seems cheap to remove dump, drill, weld, replace. let us know how it goes.

its not structural, its just a bung in a dump pipe. the guy that did mine is a master welder.

I've had a set of cast steel engine mounts modified before (by someone else), which probably isn't ideal, but they never cracked. They were also seen by the engineer and they were so neatly finished that he thought they were factory.

Best place to put the sensor is just befor the cat, and atleast 18inches down stream of the turbo, this is due to heat, wideband sensors dont like to be too close to turbos or they will burn out eventually.

You shouldnt have to worry about what wires go where, as there should be a plug n play loom with the Guage kit, so just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

Its great to see more poeple starting to add propper wideband guages these days, its one of the best ways to monitor the state of the tune, as fuel systems can change over time and slowly start leaning mixtures... or boost spikes can appear and if fuel support isnt good enough, a dangerous lean mixture can result.

Good to see more wise XR6T owners out there :)
