I thought the BF XRs had different graphics on the instrument cluster tacho and speedo to the BA? From memory it has hundreds of little dots?

In the photo it sort of looks like the steering wheel rim is plastic as well? Nut that could just be my eyes!

Yeah, is the steering wrapped in leather or is it plastic? Looks like you have something fairly modified! Every stock XR I've driven has had a leather wrapped steering wheel. And the BFs do have graduated dots on the dial - disliked that look :beerchug: I guess you gotta hope they did the mods professionally.

Don't BAs have an air vent around the knee height - bothered me like anything when I first picked mine up in Adelaide and drove it back to Melbourne. One thing I noticed about the BF Mk 1 when I got it was that Ford had done away with that air vent around the knees. I don't see those air vents in the dash pic.

Ba with ZF put in it would be my guess, and everything else added on too.

OK, so the steering wheel I believe is plastic, although its quite soft, And a couple of people I've had in the car had varying opinions.

There wasn't an air vent at knee height. And there aren't any dots on the speedo.

Attached are some more photos.

that's a BF dash cluster and the alloy pedals were a BF thing too?

Are your vehicle labels inside your drivers door or in the engine bay like this photo (to the left of the radiator expansion tank)? BA had it in the engine bay and BF inside the drivers door, as far as I know..

Could be the dots on the dial are on the BF Mk 2 - I think I remember seeing them on my mates XR8 BF Mk2. Come to think of it, I sort of don't remember seeing the dots on the dials in my old BF Mk1 - but it was sooo long ago

I miss the lit window up down buttons in my BA though - I remember my BF Mk1 had lit buttons so you could find them at night in the dark.

My money is on the steering wheel being changed to an FPV one... Then changed to a sh*tty plastic one when they traded it in...

You gotta get rid of that sh*t steering wheel! Fpv leathers on eBay for $300...

I have alloy pedals on my BA MkII, so that is no sign.

I would at a guess say you have a BA MkII. You should have a leather steering wheel. It is odd that it has BF seats and a plastic steering wheel. You will probaly find that it was stolen and stripped hence the BF seats and the ZF. You could check your engine number to see if it matches the chassis number, that would be a dead giveaway. I would put my money on it being stolen simply because you would not put a plastic steering wheel on it on purpose. Also the bodykit could have been put on as the original XR bodykit was stripped as well.

Is there a VIN stamped into the chassis on these cars? You should get the VIN checked.

I did a revs check on the car before I got it. Engine number matches the chassis number.

XF FALCON - The vehicle labels are on the front side of the drivers door. It has trim as BA, if that's of any help. :violent085:

WORM - Agree about steering wheel..... thinking maybe something like this:

FORD FPV BA-BF, TERRITORY STEERING WHEEL - Black - eBay Steering Wheels, Horns, Interior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 10-Jul-10 15:47:34 AEST)

Met a guy on a ford club run who had a BA- had one myself at the time, and he had a 6 speed auto, appaently fitted around that changeover time to some ba's. The pics look like both my ba and my bf, pretty minor changes-alloy pedals etc.I would think ford know what they made so if they say ba then that's what she is, albeit with a 6 speed ya lucky bugger.
