gday lads, not much of a poster but keen to get more involved :)

anyway, as the title describes, read a few different posts and word of mouth that seem to conflict regarding an exhaust upgrade.

I recenlty purchased an XR6T and lookin at gettin around 260-270kw at the wheels, planning on flash tune, injectors, acuator, CAI (I should be able to get it done this weekend) and maybe an catback exhaust and should acheieve what I want. I dont want the exhaust for the note but rather performance gain (and a sexy twin tip ;D) so just curious to find if its worth doing and if its good bang for you buck upgrade what brand of cat should I be lookin for? etc.

thanks fellas

More info... If it's a bf... You'll just need injectors and a tune to get that figure...

The exhaust flows well for stock... Replace with a high flow cat and pull out a center muffler and it's good for 350rwkw...

Actuator won't be needed for 11 psi which is what you'll need for that figure...

Change your air filter to a k&n... Get a typhoon intake on your airbox...

Get some wrx iridium spark plugs... And a tune...

If you did what you have said and put a fuel pump plus intercooler, you'll see 320rwkw...

oops I should of mentioned its a BA.

yeah im adding a typhoon intake with k&n filter this weekend if I get time.

also another Q, if I get the exhaust modded in any way, will I need a tune straight away or can I wait a month or two until I get a flash tune/injector compbo? cheers

As soon as you do cat you will need to drive off boost until you get a tune...

It will cause heaps of overboost...

Do cat, drive to tuner, get actuator fitted... And tune it

as the others have said, the only exhaust mod you need to do is the cat...

get a cat off rapid systems, 5" 100 cell, about $170

even at 270rwkw youll be pushing around 10psi, so id recomend getting a half decent cooler, itll be ok in winter, but wait till summer comes!

on early ba's it gives more flow, everything after that is just more note.

I have one allready done but due to the size it'd be cheaper just to gets yours done.
