mate if you need any info on these cars drop me a pm....Worked at a place for 10years working on these cars...First work out what its going to be an xw or xy....The seats that are in that car are xy not xw....so make sure if you order seat cover for this..you tell them they are xy seats...2 different types of seats in the xy...one winder the other lever for the incline on the seat.....Feel free to drop me a line...I'm still involved with old school cars and have quite a few contacts to save you some dollars....Cheers Nick

Thanks Nick! I worked out the other day they were XY seats from looking at some interior pics on the net, so I just got the same XY trims to go with the rear seat. My frames are the lever type. They'll be finished Friday!

Cheers mate I'll pm you if I need anything. (I am after a radiator frame as mine has a few holes in it as is purple not black as I think it should be on 1 side)

Looking mighty fine there Jimmy, doin a good job!

I can't wait to start my old school build now, seems more people are taking up the challenge.

I'll have to pop down in a couple of weeks and check it out in the metal! Might have to get the old man to come along too :)

Jarrad.

Bit of an update, has had the motor, trans, diff & front/back suspension taking out, on trollies!

At the panel shop with undercarrige being cleaned for stonegaurding.

Then they'll redo the door jams, fit the seat brace, sand blast boot & bay, weld up holes I dont need, cut some rust out and redo with sheet metal & finally respray it all.

Will post some pics up this arvo, going there to mark the holes I want deleted.

Yeah Jarrad, both of you should come down for a look when its finally done!

Well I finally have a few updates.....A long time since my previous post!

Motor has been built, went with a 408 stroker cleveland, scat H beams/crank, SRP forged pistons, comp solid roller & roller rockers, crower roller lifters, trend push rods, CHI 225 3V alloy heads & manifold, Pro Systems carb, MSD ignition, ASR sump, main girdle, HPC coated Pacemakers with 2'' primaries into probably a 3'' twin system at this stage.

Auto - C10 box rebuilt & waiting on a stall converter.

Diff - will be a 9'' XY housing freshly powder coated, 31 spline strange axles & strange centre, new bearings etc. Waiting on gears.

Brakes - bought a brake kit, 298mm twin pot fronts with slotted rotors & braided lines, reco'd rear drums. Reco'd master cylinder.

Interior - have re-trimmed the seats I had with XW GT black trim front & rear, new door trims, new black carpet, have refurbished the original GS dash, new black dash pad & will put in a nice stereo system. But not for a while.

Body came back yesterday to the shop, even though its taken nearly a year to do the body I don't really mind. I'm very pleased with how the body & paint turned out!! Wayyyy better than the acrylic paint job it used to have!

Anyway, hoping to have it finally back on the road 4-5 weeks! Hope you like the progress pics!

Cheers

Body -

Thanks guys turbo ute & Dillz! I can't wait.

Will be Centreline Autodrags - 15x5.5 front ( I think) & 15x8.5'' rear with mt's. Gaurds have been rolled & diff housing has been shortened slightly.

Are you building still Dillz? I think I recall you going through a similar build?

Yeah cars in pieces atm mate, time and funds for it have run pretty low. I hope it doesn't turn out to be one of those "10 years in the making" cars..

And I wouldn't say similar either lol, the 351 will do us just fine thanks!
