Hey all,

Replacing the rotors on my 2005 Bf Ute.

The fronts were simple and came of very easy, however the rears are stuck and dont come away from the hub.

Is there a locking screw or a technique with the handbrake?

The handbrake is off.

Thanks

Andrew.

WD40 and a hammer should work. I take it you have removed the calliper

You might need to back off the hand brake and spray the centre of the rotor

Have to give it another go tomorrow they just wouldn't move at all.

Wasn't to sure as the front almost fell off, didn't want to brake anything.

Thanks for the help.

Soak the centre of the hub in WD40 and leave overnight and they will fall off. A little bit of gentle heating then another dose of WD40 will get them off ASAP

Didn't see any allen key locations when I had the wheel off, just the handbrake adjustment plug (handbrake line was loose and had a fair bit of play).

Although there was a small hole in the center of the hub. Didn't look like a key hole though.

The hub seemed a bit rusty so I think natures locktite has taken control.

I'll give it a good soak and see how it goes when I get a chance.

I think he's talking about a big Phillips head bolt... Did you undo that???

If you look at the new rotor, it will be very obvious as to where this is, as there's a big hole!

I don't think you could miss it! And if you did... Don't admit it on here!

Mate, even if the hand brake cable is loose you still need to loosen the handbrake pretensioner on the hub. Just turn the hub so you can get to it and wind it in. Then take a soft mallet and just tap the rotor at diagonals and it will come off easy. Hit the hub with some fine paper to clean it up and either lightly spray some rust inhibitor or primer. Then just put it all back together and retighten the pretensioner (you will feel by turning the hub when it first starts to grab and just back off half a turn) and throw your wheel on.
