My mate had his FG XR6 Turbo done on the north side somewhere near Redcliffe with only the following mods, XR8 AIRBOX, K&N AIR FILTER & TUNE & Stage 2 Intercooler & it made 405rwhp and his mates got 390rwhp same mods. Both cars were Auto sedans.

OK so just to confirm these cars running the stock dump/cat/exhaust with the abovementioned mods? Just curious as I am looking for minor mods to make around 400rwhp with mine...so if I don't have to change dump/cat/exhaust then all good.

Its easy to get caught up in dyno figures comparing diferent cars and dynos.

Firstly two identically built cars can make different power outputs.

Secondly the only true measurement with a comparison between cars is either at the track or on the same dyno on the same day.

We see this alot when cars have claimed much more power on dyno days but dont make whats claimed.

Last of all I have not seen a FG (small turbo) make over 400 hp at the wheels on our dyno.

Hope this clears a few things up

Cheers Paul

Paul can you confirm that small turbo is pretty much maxed out at 300rwkw?

My tuner tells me this and I believe them 305-310 rwkw may be possible but no way 320rwkw + on stock turbo

We maxed mine at 330ish, but that said theres some that have gone 350 in melb, other lower, figures are all over the place so its hard to get a solid figure on what it the max, but its rated at 500-550hp from what I'm told, but like Paul says, its all numbers & best to get it on the track to see a true figure.

And decent wiide rear tyres will take alot of the wheelspin out and make the diff work as it should... mine ran 126mph dead straight with the stock diff and MTs... its pretty similar on the 295 Toyo street tyres too... stock tyres are nooo good with decent torque.

The FG turbo is rated at 49 lb's/minute of air (based on Nizpro video)...to put that into perpective....a Garrett 3071 is rated at around 48lb's and the 3076 at around 53lb's so it sits somewhere in the middle of these two turbos.

Each pound of air will make around 9hp - 11hp - depending on who you talk to. Assuming an average of say 10hp per pound of air, this turbo is rated at 490hp (365kw). Assuming a drivetrain loss of say 18%, this will give us bang on 300rwks. If you assumed the turbo would make 11hp per pound of air....this would equate to 330rwks.

Based on the dynos I'm seeing posted, somewhere between these figures are pretty much what we are seeing on a maxxed out FG turbo.

If you wanted slightly more power than the stock turbo you could fit the 56 trim compressor from the 3076 turbo (rated at 53lb per minute) and the .6 a/r compressor cover.
