Hi Guys. I was wondering if anyone could help me... I have a 2008 FG Xr6 Turbo Ute just going on 16000km. Just recently ive been having a probem with the 6-speed manual gearbox/clutch.

The only way I can get it to go into reverse is to sit there an jam it into gear? And when it finally goes into gear I can hear gears being crunched! Does anyone know why it would be doing this??

The Clutch System may need a " Bleed / Change of Fluid "

Put your foot on the brake champ whilst putting it into reverse (ie. Left foot clutch, right foot brake... And put into reverse)

No other problems with anything else like the aircon. Mine blew a fuse once when towing a trailer which took out my reverse lights and aircon. While the fuse was blown it made it hard to select reverse for some reason. Think it was to do with it not knowing if I was stopped or not.

You gotta remember the R gate is blocked when you are moving at 3+kph approx so if you dont stop properly it may resist.

Hey. I might have to take it into ford to get it checked out. All the other gears are fine. Its just the reverse that's being a pain. Not having any problems at all with the electrical system

I know what your saying but Im talking about putting the car into reverse whilst stationary! And Im sure the clutch isnt stuffed because the other gears are perfect.

Hey Ive tried everything. Strangely I think that selecting first and then reverse helps a bit but Im still not happy. I never used to have this problem. The cars only just hit 16000kms. As far as Im concerned its a new car and it should run like a new car. Ill be taking it to ford on wedneday
