Hey guys,

Im in the market shortly for a 6 Turbo shortly but undecided whether to go for a Ba or Bf.

My mate has said the BF has a ball bearing turbo in contrast to the BA.

Is this true?

whats the difference in turbos?

and which one is better in general?

Cheers

Turbos are the same I thought?

Main differences if you choose BF made after 06/06:

better gearbox quality (autos especially)

Two knock sensors instead of one

F6 valve springs and rods - saves $$$ if modding

Something on the engine cam wise I think - someone fill this in!

More modern tail lights, lol. Angry face instead of evil happy face too! >:D (BA) as vs D:< (BF). ASCII art rules.

What else guys?

Yeah, to clarify for you OP, don't get the 5 speed manual glass box. Snap!

The 4 speed auto can be beefed up heaps, for a price. 6 speed ZF auto handles up to high 300's rwkw - depending on luck and treatment.

Ba 5 speed man and 4 speed auto Dual Variable cam timing 240kw 450nm

Ba MKII 6 speed man and 4 speed auto

Bf 6 speed manual. 6 speed auto Dual INDEPENDENT Variable Cam timing = more factory torque extra 30 or so NM from memory 245kw

Bigger front and rear brakes from territory

after 06/06 same engine as the F6 Typhoon

All B series falcons whether FPV or Falcon have exactly the same turbo

Wow so only BFs get independent VCT? That's the cam difference I was thinking of.

I forgot all about the power difference too! Cheers RHR
