So here's my situation, I sold my XR6 ute as had a too good offer to pass up. mean while I've just been saving my money and have a supermotard and postie motorbike as transport. I get my full license in 6 months therefor being allowed to drive a turbo in NSW as I'm only 19.

I'm only really looking at FG's as I don't want another BF shape. I've driven a new FG F6 and love it, but 2nd hand ones I'm looking from $47,000 - $52,000. There are afew XR6T's same year and around same km's for $27,000 - $33,000.

What I want to know is 20g worth the extra for the F6? I know there got brembo's and more potential but 20g!

Whats are your guys expierence with both cars and words of wisdom?

cheers Tom!

Exclusivity is hard to put a price on. The front is fantastic, nice and aggressive - though it's a bit of a polarising feature. Never driven anything other than my BFII so can't comment on build quality etc.

But how many F6's do you see around? Far fewer than the turbos. Plus a grandad in a G6ET will pull a 12.9 - you don't want him equalling you do you!?! :icon_ford:

Just make sure the finance numbers stack up realistically (also insurance).

The FPV is worth it, if that is what floats your boat.

Performance wise, both can be as fast as they essentially are the same base.

As Steve says, check everything as insurance on a FPV is far more than a normal T.

You will be happy with either one :icon_ford:

I chose a bf f6 tornado ove a fg xr6t but my persoal choice

Do you want the kit etc???

Don't buy a T if you are gonna put f6 kits on it and sh*t! It will cost you more in the long run!!!

Are you gonna do track work? If not, I would say brembos are overkill...

Take both for a spin...

$10k will see you at around 400rwkw in a T... $12.5k with some brembos...

Depends what you really want. Firstly if your not worried about your warranty (I assume your not going 2nd hand) then the XR6T would be perfect. Put 20G or even half that as already mentioned into the XR and see how the F6 stacks up, looks aside...If your after something that has a little more road presence and exclusivity then go for the F6. In your position of age, license etc (which I am also in but only a few weeks off :D) I'd go for the XR6T, it'll be plenty for your first 'real' car on your open's, then when your used to the power, upgrade with the money you saved on the F6. But that's just my opinion.

What he said! Either way hahha... modding costs the same. At least until you hit the max of the FG T turbo! Which isn't hard with simple mods it seems.

Warranty is good however. Peace of mind while saving for mods like me. Now two years later my warranty is dead I'm in a good position with the buys I've made from the forum. :stupid:

Thanks for all the posts, I'll be wanting to take it to the track that's why I'm keen on big brakes. I'll be buying the car outright no finance or loan. Have to look into insurance but that's weird if a fpv is alot more than stanard xr6t because when I was looking at WRX's insuring a STI was cheaper... probally due to the amount of habibs that drive them.

I'm mainly after a solid base car to start with so tens of thousands dont have to go into it otherwise I'll get carried away! I've been getting told a BF mkii tornado is the way to go and leaning more towards that now if FG F6's dont come down in price at end of year.
