Daniel Member 299 Member For: 21y 7m 26d Gender: Male Posted 21/06/10 09:02 AM Share Posted 21/06/10 09:02 AM Hi all.. had a bit of a search and found some info on the products, but nothing that covered what I'm searching...Just trying to sort out my exhaust system and the last things I need to consider are my dump pipe and maybe my cat.Currently I am running a 4" dump pipe and a 3.5" metal cat.Now while I have lived and loved the massive power this setup has allowed me to run, I am now scaling back a tad in the efforts to make a quieter system for the car, its a daily drive. What I am looking to find out is if anybody has run a normal 3.5" dump pipe vs a 3.5" split dump and how they found them to be different in volume, sound and performance? Same thing with the split cat, I am considering 2x smaller cats (I think some systems are starting to use this) in hope that it still flows, but may be quieter.. has anybody had both or heard them in comparison? There is very little info or even chat around about tha sound side of all this exhaust gear; any info would be greatly appreciated!! I was going to ask if he kew of any mufflers that flow better then the ones in the xforce quiet twin 2.5" system without being overly loud . . . but I remembered I have an xcal1
Daniel Member 299 Member For: 21y 7m 26d Gender: Male Posted 23/06/10 09:22 AM Author Share Posted 23/06/10 09:22 AM RAP1D, this is sounding extremely interesting.I have had stock F6 mufflers, stock GTP mufflers when I went dual exhaust, smaller Xforce, larger Xforce and now something fairly custom. All have been too loud; install is 5000% fine, nothing touching rubbing tc, even have 2 small flex pipes in the system to reduce noise or vibrations coming from the engine down the system, this worked better than any muffler change! Can I get a rough ETA for this super quiet system, I'd be happy if you wanna chat via pm.I'd even drive to sydney if you're sure its going to be quieter than stock.. as with 75,000kms driven, FIVE exhausts I am totally fed-up and the car will be sold off!I know it sounds like an overreaction, but nobody has been able to get it quiet and all I do is leave (well known) workshops with a much lighter wallet, a boot full of spare **** and a droney car. The Xforce quiet mufflers went on my system and sounded great at first, but they got droney after 100km which was a huge disappointment only staying silent for around 2 days.
