HI guys sorry for another post but I was just wondering if a bf f6 engine will go straight into my ba? also will it need a tune or anything else or will it just slot straight in and drive away? also its a 270 kw engine, so does that mean its a post 06/06 biult engine?

Yeah it would but you will need the BF ECU and the transmission to match. BF motors have that variable cam thingy which the BA motors dont.

The F6 engines have the uprated rods aswell as the post 06/06 BFII motors.

err... I put a 07 tornado f6 motor in my BA. All I got was the LONG motor. Was a straight swap. No ecu/looms. Cost me about 1000$ to have it done in 1-2 days with all fluids and a re-dyno tune

How come it costed you just $1000? I'm doing the same thing, but I've pay to 8 grands for swapping my BA XR6T engine with modified BF F6 Tornado engine. it will still cost about 3 to 4 grand, even if you just swap BA xr6t with BF xr6t.

BF has provision for 2 knock sensors. You don't have to use the second. BF cams are slightly different and as mentioned almost correctly, the inlet and exhaust cams can be controlled independently but this is a feature of the ECU rather than the physical motor.

I'm fairly sure thems the differences.

Does that 8k include the motor? I bought my motor for 4500$ delivered to my mechanic. Then cost 1000$ to do the swap in one day. Maybe you got your motor for more $$$.

LOL @ 8k just to swap a motor over. Hell, give me the car and ill do it for 5k. Ill take it to same place, pay them 1k and pocket 4k!

It's actually not the only motor. It comes with everything such as intercooler, transmission cooler, methanol injection, surge tank, battery relocation, modded air intake, aluminum rocker cover plenum, few other mods. My motor was not in shape, that's the only reason im doing it. I already had to spend 6k's to put my xr6t's engine in shape. and the mechanic was buying fg f6. however, he told me to do the whole swap with his F6. following are things needed to be replaced:

- valve springs ------------------------> solved with Cobra heavy duty springs and conrods in f6

- fuel pump ----------------------------> solved surge tank

- turbo bushes worn --------------------> Bigger turbo

- problems with air/fuel mixture ratio -> ?

- injectors high flowed ----------------> 72lb High flow injectors

- Tuned/Dynoed

F6 Engine is recently rebuilt.
