What I do is in the post of mine you quoted. All I'm doing is playing devils advocate on the information and advice I have been given so far. With that I've posed a couple of questions here that I've yet to have answered. Granted its been less than 24 hours, so I'll just wait. But when you rang the ACCC, did you just give an emotive personal rant, or did you give them all the facts about what SCT and Herrod have said and quoted plus your rant? All I'm saying there will always be 2 sides and you need to be mindful of the other, which I think might be getting glossed over. And that's why I've mostly given up.Besides, I would have thought will all your inside info into the case you'd be sitting back and crossing your arms just waiting for the X1's to be turned back on in the very near future. I still think its a bit unfair you're holding out potential valuable information.

So playing devils advocate again, where does it say retune and therefore loading new tunes to the box?To me that says there is no limit on how many times data can be transferred back and forth, so its not finite like the number of cars it can be used on. One can argue that line means we can upload whatever tunes the tuners have saved for us right now as many times as we require. Or remove one of the custom tunes from the box and replace it with one from a library of tunes you or your tuner may have. Its forcing a leading and unqualified assumption on our part.If you read further, that same line appears on the X3 sales blurb on the CAPA site... BUT NOT on the Herrod or SCT site. Does that mean that CAPA has made a sales promise that the manufacturer and their current distributor don't support? SCT have always maintained to me via email that how we are using these devices is not the intended use. If CAPA have lead us to believe otherwise, and every X1 box sold in Australia came via CAPA, then our beef really is with CAPA.As far as my understanding goes to have unlimited transfers TO the box would mean the tuner would still be able to upload something to the box. This thread indicates the tuners now can't send anything to the box - exactly the opposite of what CAPA advertised. Yes you can shuffle between tunes on the box already but I very much doubt they could argue you can still load TO the box.I would have thought the case would be against CAPA then, Herrods didn't advertise that and weren't the agent at the time. I can't imagine how much grief they must be copping thanks to other peoples actions.

Or does this type of function require the software to have X1 support? If the tranferring still works, and all they have taken away is the ability to use and modify X1 bins, then technically s#!t creek is where we are at, but at least with a paddle for the time being. Maybe need to start exploring this avenue against CAPA as well.

If it ain't there, they can't be transferred...Now even if it is there, it don't work... Cause they have disabled the functionality...

Maybe need to start exploring this avenue against CAPA as well.Even when the support was current, we as tuners have never been able to extract tunes from the flash box, infact we still can not extract tunes from the latest unit.I believe this was a good idea as any body tuning had to know what they were doing or fail miserably, having the ability to extract tunes tend to produce copycat tuners, they extract somebody elses tune and then make changes without knowing why (my rant done)We still write our tunes exactly as we have in the past using the same software, it's just now we do not have the ability to communicate with an Xcal 1 flash box.Our software will not open unless the dongle is plugged into the computer, if the dongle is removed once the programme is open it will then close.
