:stupid: atleast u can just chuck it on the dyno usually costs about 100 buck give or take just to get a read out and see what going on afr's etc then youll know if its safe or not. Does it literrally only happen at 140kph and is that booting it all the way from standstill Edited by Brendan XR6-T

I have similar issues if tank is less than half full. Well not as bad as you. Even happens if I boot it sometimes. I have ab ig fuel pump but not much use if fuel moves to the rear of the tank.

How old is the car? The fuel filter on these things clogs up easy especially if you run the tank low often.

A tune will help or at least diagnose it but 2 bits of maitenance would be to change fuel filter (there are threads on here about it and the suggestion is not to get a Ryco as it has to be really tightened to stop it leaking) and also lean the Tubo boost solenoid near the battery. They may not be the cause but they should be done especially if the car is over 30 or 40000k.

The biggest issue with fuel for these things is that the pick up is at the front of the tank and the fuel moves to the rear under accel. Why it misses afterwards could be dirty fuel having been picked up.

Only my thoughts. Im not a mechanic or a mechanics rear end so I may know jack.

Valve spring float??? I believe when they give up if you back of it goes back to normal after several seconds, had that couple of times but in lower gears, but we're just guessing here mate. If you plan to get a custom tune take it easy untill you do and they will check it while there. If you don't put it on a dyno explain to them what happened and they should be able to see what's happening, if it's consistant.

Could be limp mode due to overboost...but you said it returned to normal aftert driving it...limp mode will return to normal after the engine is turned off and on.

Possibly you hit the rev limiter...

How long has it been since you reset the ECU? Just disconnect the neg terminal on your battery and leave it for a min or so before putting it back on.

Misfires could be due to faulty spark plugs or faulty coil packs. But you said it sounded like a misfire.

Just some thoughts :o

And I agree with some of the others above, take it to a tuner to get them to diagnose what is wrong - they have the computers, dynos and know-how to check things out on our cars.
