my a/c fan unit squeaks, only on low. It is driving me freakin crazy :beerchug:

What do I need to do/use to get rid of this problem?? Take fan unit out and oil it? Or are they a bearing unit? Please help before my steel cap boots deal with it

Yeah I had a look at it..seems that forum has two issues going on though..to solve the ticking noise I gather you stretch the springs...but to stop the squeeky I need to use engine oil to lubricate it instead of a silicone oil..right?

yeah I had the squeaky noise, and I used engine oil, but I put the hole fan unit out and oiled it up, and no squeak's its been 3 weeks, silicone spray only lasts like a week.

argh couldnt get the fan off....however I took off the plastic cover and then took the metal bottom off the motor and oiled the cup that the shaft sits in...hope it works....although I am suprised there is no bearing on the bottom. It sure does heat up when the fan is on...
