hiddeous what is the performance difference between the two?

I imagine VVT wouldn't be cheap as otherwise BMW wouldn't bother with a twin serial setup.

VVT work better buts as you said is uber 'spensive.

VNT's are pretty good tho, would love too do one on a T :turboboink:

Done a bit of quick research regarding price, they are not that expensive when used on diesels, used quiet extensively these days. But petrol is a little different as it runs a lot hotter and in order for all this variable stuff to survive it needs to be made from some pretty expensive materials so I don't think we'll start seeing this stuff on regular cars any time soon. Bloody shame...

Hope someone develops a reasonably priced durable unit.

bmw have now swapped from a twin turbo to a single turbo with some of this turbo tech we're talking about here on their 3L 6cyl engines. More power, less lag and less emissions apparently.
