No worries,

if I have abit of time tomorrow I'll put the stock solenoid back in and see what that does.

I'll let you guys know!

Thanks for the info.

hey guys,

well I took out the new solenoid and put the old one back in, but still not working right! :stirthepot:

had a reading at idle at around 2PSI, so just gonna take it to my mates tomorrow and put on the mechanical boost gauge and see what that reads.

still cant find any kind of leaks or loose hoses anywhere, so maybe the unit itself is faulty? who knows!

I've posted a pic of where the vac line is connected with the T piece, but as I said have tried directly off the BOV hose too with the same result.

so yeh got me stumped? :innocent: ill have to get onto Turbosmart I think!

Well I got onto turbosmart and they helped me reset it, all good now!

But the only problem I have is that I haven't wired up the rpm signal wire, now I have search and I think I need a sine wave converter or something? But most thread I have seen have been someone trying to install a monster tacho and get flamed.

Anyone able to help out with the rpm issue? And if I do need a sine converter, where do you get them from?

why do you want to feed the e-boost an rpm input? The unit will work just fine without the rpm input, if you really want to feed it rpm you will need the herrod/ford motor sport converter. FWIW summit racing have the ford motorsport tach driver for less than herrods

You can use the rpm signal for a few reasons:

1/ To activate a buzzer or light at a set rpm. (Shift alert)

2/ To add or remove boost from the top end of the rev range between two set rpm points that you can set to any rpm. This helps in the top end where usually boost drops off.

3/ To use the Set point mapping, where you can select boost levels at all 500rpm intervals through out the rev range.

4/ To swithch a device on or off at certian rpm points (such as water injection, nitrous and so on)

that's what comes to mind quickly.

im well aware of the E-boost capabilities when feed an rpm signal ( I ran an e-boost 2 for over 4 years on my old car, and have it and the ford motorsport tach driver sitting in my shed waiting to go on my current car)

My question to the OP is why does he want to run the rpm input and what he hopes to achieve by doing so on a mostly stockcar?
