4Sp Better Than 6Sp...

A properly built BTR with a stally and over 350rwkw's is enuff to munch a 6spd Auto with over 380rwkw from takeoff and roll-ons, (Thanks for the experience Tarso), and certainly munch a 2 speed glide from roll-ons for that matter, also thx to Justin.

On a serious note, My BTR has lasted me just under 2 years of total rape and it still feels as good as new. It obviously wont last as a power-glide would but if it was to crap it self, id simply go back to Bayswater Autos and get it rebuilt....

As ppl have said again and again, if these boxes are built properly and tuned accordingly they are the works but then again every box has it's pros and cons....

slush box, although the built BTR is responsive and good to drive, ive never driven a ZF but they last with 400+ rwkw's and the BTR if your lucky and spend thousands on them will be good for 350 rwkw's, ZF has my vote

I dont reckon a standard 6spd auto will handle 9 sec passes for very long either. If someone builds a strong one,adds a stally and a good cooler and can tune them properly,then they may be reliable. Hate changing gears in the 6spd and finding the thing doesnt change quick enough and engine hits the limiter.

C4 T400 or Powerglide for 9 second cars, wouldnt waste time with either ZF or BTR if your after 9 sec passes, C4 T400 or Powerglide will handle alot more with alot less maintaining, for the initial outlay of $6000 - $10000 depending on who builds it,or stick with the ZF or BTR and keep rebuilding it, will cost you alot more in the long run..the car with the BTR that did a 9 sec pass had to be ripped out and rebuilt straight after it did the 9 and id put money on it having to be rebuilt again before it does another 10000 km's or a few passes at the drags

quite wrong there rip_hsv. After it ran a 9sec pass, they pulled it apart to see if there was any damage, and there was none. So they wacked it back in, and went out the following week or so and backed up the 9sec pass. They took auto out again after and still no damage so they are wrapped with how it is going atm.

Would be interesting to see how many passes it holds. Also would be interesting to see how the car launches (as it uses nos of the line prob doesnt need to stall it up to 5k rpm then bang it down)
