As mentioned on a previous post, I had ordered an HgAg Turbo with Plexis Red Interior for a delivery date of early Nov. This order was placed in August because of the expected delay. I was amazed when the dealer rang me in mid-September and said "Your car is here"

I went and viewed the car and found that the interior was Plexis Grey instead of Plexis Red. After many phone calls to the dealer and Fleet Company, the dealer said "No problem, we will re-order in the correct colour". They also assured me that the delivery date of early November was still achievable.

I had reason to visit the dealer today to provide a copy of my licence for Rego purposes and I asked about the delivery date. Again they were extremely confident in the early November delivery date. I then asked when is it likely to turn up at the dealership and after a bit of prodding they advised "It is already here". Apparently this one was sourced from Queensland, and brought down to Sydney, NSW.

What mystifies me even more is that the original HgAg in Plexis Grey is still sitting in the middle of the sales yard waiting for a buyer. So I ask the question....is there a waiting list or not ???

Anyone who wants an HgAg with Plexis Grey interior and Premium sound package ( without having to wait ), should get their dealer to contact Peter Warren at Warwick Farm, Sydney. It was there last time I looked.

Sounds like your dealer is getting there cars from other dealers unwanted stock rather than ordering a car through ford to avoid the time on the production line, beware of the build date mate!

well actually there is, however it's entirely dealer-factory not dealer-buyer.

If a dealer has the car coming in on their stock list (stock they have ordered for the showroom floor) then chances are when you ordered your car, they already had one coming in as stock, they just altered their order with your list of options.

Hi alxr6t,

Checked the build date while I was there...September. This falls within the 3 month build period as stipulated by the Fleet Company.

Obviously not a popular colour if HgAg are lying about all over the place!

Probably not the case if you wanted Blueprint.

I know that the dealer where I purchased my T had quite a few problems with people ordering cars, paying there deposit and when the car turns up they bail for whatever reason. Also the floorplan period is over and if they don't sell it they start paying interest on it.

It does seem strange for a popular car, but just because it's popular in one place doesn't mean it popular in another, every brand, every product for that matter have their strong and weak areas.

I'm fairly sure Ford is pumping out a a butt load more Ts whenever they have the supply of other components. Dale Ford are confident of meeting any customer order with a car in a 4-6 week timeframe and had mine 'in stock' so when the fleet company ordered I got a call within 2 hours!
