I want to keep it safe. My goal is around 300+rwkw,List so far:XR8 Airbox and Snorkel with PodInjectors Rapids Replacement Intake (to get rid of the standard cone)4" Dump Pipe4" Hiflow catFlash Box and TuneIve been told that these mods will get me there easily, there's a few things I wanted to clarify with you guys.Which injectors should I get? Ive heard that Bosch and Siemens are good, apparently FG F6 ones are fine?Which dump pipe and Cat should I get? X-force dump and cat from rapid is $900, are they okay? someone told me that I could get a custom dump and cat one for around $600, is this possible? any others?I don't think ill be changing the standard exhaust, I wont even be removing any of the mufflers, I don't want to be too loud when I'm just cruising and Idling, With the bigger dump and cat it apparently sounds decent and sounds nice when giving it a bit. Is this true? Also makes the car seem standard, which is what I want. Your thoughts?Obviously I don't want to pay top dollar for parts, but reliability is a key.Would it be cheaper if me and few mates (decent experience) were to put the mods on our self? We would tow it to a tuner of course.Or would it be best to buy the parts, go to the tuner and let them do everything?Any information would be appreciated, Thanks everyone, and will be looking forward to meeting some of you at the next and my first Vic Cruise =DOh and just quickly thanks to Mick from Pitlane, ebxmple, Arkayne and Gloo, for replying to my never ending PM's/Emails, you have been great help, sorry if I missed out on a few people ! Maitland Posted 31/05/10 11:30 AM Share Posted 31/05/10 11:30 AM FG F6 injectors will easily get you there, they are fine up to mid 300's. You might be able to get some cheap too, I got mine for 200 bucks! I don't think you'll need a dump, or a cat to make 300. If you want a bit more than 300, say 320 you should do the cat. Rapid has a 3 inch in/out with 5 inch cat chamber for around 170 bucks, I got one of these. I would reccomend a cooler upgrade rather than farking around with the exhaust, specially if you only want 300. You should replace the boost pipe too as they can bust over factory boost levels. Try C and V for a 169 dollar fix to the problem. Mine is getting done soon, was supposed to be done last Friday but the tuner had a few hiccups with his workload. I have been told that the dump would help with better airflow and get better spool noise and flutter, which is what I am after. Edited 31/05/10 11:55 AM by RHR No need to quote above post. Maitland Posted 31/05/10 12:08 PM Share Posted 31/05/10 12:08 PM It not so much how much power the cooler can handle, but how well it works at keeping intake temps down after repeated power runs. If you can afford the dump, by all means go for it, it's a smart upgrade but the FGT exhaust system is apparently very good, with the cat itself being the major choke point (unless you're looking to make big power). I don't know about the dump helping spool noise, I think you'll find that that is more intake related. I have a Process West air box on my FG and it sounds friggen awesome and will sound even better once boost is upped as the turbo will spin faster. "Flutter" is just compressor surge and you'll have more chance of that with an upgrade intake. Regardless of whether or not you will buy a larger cooler, definately invest in the charge pipe. There is plenty of feedback about the factory fella busting open. I have a few friends that are around the 340 mark with their stock cooler. I got to 310rwkw only spending $3700 but I got a full exhaust. I will be selling my Growler CAI shortly if you wanted a second hand one. Its been on the car for 2 months and 1000ks. My car will be used as a proto for a new carbon air biox and batt relo. If you have an idea of parts you want I might be able to get them cheaper for you. If anyoneblows an engine in the mean time I can get you a great buy from Atomic.uote name='kvbaby' date='02 June 2010 - 12:15 PM' timestamp='1275444910' post='1012707']Cheers Rhino,So you think I should just upgrade the cat? leave the dump standard?Plazmaman have a replacement piping kit for $775 is this fine?Rapid has RSRP 5inch Cat 100cpi 4inch in/out $379 SALE $210 RSRP 5inch Cat 100cpi 3inch in/out $299 SALE $169, should I just got for the 4inch in/out for the extra $40?What difference would it make? How much would I be looking at for all mods fitted + the tune?Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/68491-finally-modding-the-fgt/#findComment-1012750 Share on other sites
