160kms might not be dangerous manho and even in our cars its easy to reach but its still 50kms over the legal limit in Australia.

Anyone know how the police react when they bust you for doing 50kms over?? I certainly do and they arent real nice about it.

oh yeh its defo not dangerous in the right conditions but yes like you said if its over the fictionally appropriate number painted on the sign designed to extract maximum revenue then your nicked basically.

that's the way it will be til the gubbermint invents another way to raise revenue based on flimsy and flawed evidence.

I know how coppers react when you either choke them til almost passing out in a brawl or diving ass first onto their bonnet while they are eating their BP muffins hahaha.. pretty much an invite for them to whup ass

Australian HWP Police 2010 = High Speed parking Inspectors cum Digital Photographers with guns and battitude

Don't dare argue with me. I am trained not to give a sh!t and anyway I am always right, you are always wrong. I will lecture you, you will listen, then I will fine you and even if I'm wrong you will have to lose your time at court to prove it. I don't care how long you have been driving, you exceeded the speed limit by 2klm now give me at least a days pay and shut up and put up with it :buttrock:

No wonder so few people have any respect for them anymore.

Speed Kills now holds about as much water as Rudds Global Warming Con

Well said, I call them armed tax collectors, as they are way too quick to whip out the infringement book.

There is an element of education and punishment to every offence. My speeding ticket was at 10:30pm on a Sunday night with very light traffic coming out of the harbour tunnel on a 8 lane freeway that is an 80 zone :buttrock:

I do not deny speeding, but I do take offence to a cop telling me 20km/h is more dangerous when he did far more in the same type of car and then fining me for the privilege of his diatribe.

Got done a few weeks ago for 111 in a 100 zone, which is absolute bullsh*t as I had the cruise control set below that and it was on a a flat stretch of road so couldn't have creeped up at all. The lifesaver was travelling in the other direction and tail-gating a semi-trailer so I suspect that influenced the reading somehow?

Still debating whether to contest it and waste my time or not, is only $133 fine and one point, will loose more than that taking a day off work. :bliss:

What f*cken sh*ts me though is while the lifesaver was giving me a lecture about family and loved-ones  this busted up old piece of sh*t goes past without any taillights and only one headlight working (in the middle of the night on a rural highway) and cracked the sh*ts because I suggested that is a bigger issue and maybe he shouldn't be wasting his time with me. Also wouldn't be too happy that I made the same complaint in writing to his superior.

IB's on the caseshocked.gif

I like the big bold title of "Off duty police man caught at 160Kph", I think it should say "Off duty police man caught at 50Kph over the speed limit" and then see who gives a sh!t. Bloody unlucky it was a speed camera in my opinion.

Damn revenue raisers should have better things to do then terrorise unsuspecting motorists. The poor bloke probably just finished a hard day at the office and then this happens.

Take it to court and fight it all the way is my advice.

Where's that Iconic Bionic goose when you need him? Actually, it was probably him :3gears:

Here laughing at you. Wrong state champion!

Lets face it, tutoring high school students and being a police officer are two completelty different things. Regardless of whether 50kms over the limit is safe or not, a police officer knows better. Especially a 46 y/o one. While I appear anti police I'm actually far from it. I'm just anti people with power having double standards and being corrupt.

Hopefully he looses his job as well as his license :)

What corruption?. Speeding is speeding and doesnt equate to being on the take.

Bit of a stretch, so stop watching underbelly.

If a police office detects you doing 100km/h in a 80 zone from a stationary patrol car and then needs to do 160km/h to catch you, how can he lecture me that 20k/h over the speed limit is dangerous when he did 80km/h over to catch me ?

The cop had no credible explination aside from he was trained to exceed the speedlimit. I informed him, I was also trained in high speed driving. Fortunatly he said that he was allowed to exceed the speedlimit and it was not unsafe for him to speed, but it was for me. Luckly it is all on ICV so I will look forward to receiving the video evidence when it goes to court.

I think his car was far more suitable at 160Kph as well, and his daily driving at these speeds on public roads makes him far more experienced then any track driving you have undertaken.

Road Rules 2008, Rule 305 also gives him special exemptions where as Rule 20 'exceeding the speed limit' sinks you.

And the ICV supports him not you, so make sure you view it before it goes to court.

I.B.

Reaching those speeds is easy. Most stock super bikes can do 0 -160 in ten seconds.

It's washing it off that's the trouble.

160kmp/h = 42m per second.

Zap I wish you all the best, but the beak wont set a precident.

Actually its 44mps. But its still pretty quick.

In QLD and Victoria especially they sure do, that's why we get all the sooks on here going on about 2k's over in there attempts for sympathy when not one of them Australia wide has been done for 2K's over.

Relax, I dont mean the flash for cash's.
