2011 Ford Territory EcoBoost Spied

After announcing plans to introduce a 2.0-litre four-cylinder variant of Ford’s global EcoBoost engine in the locally built Falcon, Ford has been busted testing the Ford Territory with the same 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine.

The 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine is expected to produce upwards of 185kW, in addition to 350Nm of torque. The engine features Twin-Independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT) and a turbocharger to extract the most from the engine, giving it V6 power credentials with four-cylinder fuel economy.

Why is everyone against this motor? It's going to be awesome. It's so much lighter and smaller that the handling will improve and the car will be just a quick as before.

Having said that.. they've got a hell of a job replacing the 4.0T.

The new V8 will be awesome too. Again lighter and smaller blah blah.

Also, they're bringing the DSG gearbox in together with this.. mmmmmm

What a load of :stirthepot:

The ford spokesperson clearly states there won't be a 2.0L Territory, and guess what, that ain't a 2.0L territory. Surprise surprise.

And what's this crap about suppliers delaying the rear end?

I've discussed this with the owners of CA and looked into what they call evidence for this being an EcoBoost Territory. I explained that their evidence lacks any real substance. I highly doubt this is an ecoboost Territory. Certainly not for production anytime soon anyhow. I'm not against an ecoboost Tezza though, I think it would be great to have and I wouldn't be surprised to see it in a few years.

On the supply issues regarding rear end... there is truth to that but it's no longer an issue!
