Comp wheel and housing are different... housing "looks" the same as F6 but inside its a touch smaller to keep the AR to .5 with the smaller wheel.

Some options are;

Grab a FG F6 (or BA BF but make sure the wastegate port is enlarged)) turbo, fit it, re-tune and go.

Have you stock FG turbo upgraded/high flowed... pulled appart, larger comp wheel fitted, housing machined to suit... fit it, retune and go.

Or mod the stock one but with a bigger wheel again (bigger than F6) and machined stock comp cover or bigger .7 cover.

The above mod is my pick as its similar $ with around 50-100hp more than the FG F6 turbo... so should easily support mid 400wkws, but you'll need to change the intake to suit the 4inch inlet on the comp housing and the outlet is 2.5inch so would need a mod to suit.

hey bud,

you are in luck, ill send ya pm... I have that work done to my turbo as rapid mentioned plus a nicely ported rear housing, and I have gone to a built motor with larger turbo etc yet again... lucky for you I am selling mine, only has done 7500km since it got built. the price will be cheaper than getting a new one or doing the work to yours as well.

sending pm now

djkice - did you end up going for the bigger wheel and .7 cover?

larger wheel

.7 cover lags spools up slower imo

.5 cover has much power in it anyway no need to upgrade for the extra 10rwkw which youd get from the cover :/

I think Ray will be happy with your turbo djkice, plus we are just about sick of travelling the 4hrs to mackay all the time!

Still have to do it again when I finally get onto finishing mine!

This next trip though should be more exciting as there will be plenty more gains to be had than last time.

nice pickup on his part indeed the work which is done to it is excess of what I sold the complete turbo for.

which means he still has his stock one intact and could probably sell of and regain what he picked mine up for?? not sure or close to it.

:blaah:

yeah fg housing is way better... less prone to cracking.

also be carefull how they port it because I had issues... I have actually been threw 3 rear fg housings to finally get porting right

needs to be ported right hand side and up... not just enlarge hole but angle for exhaust gasses to flow, upgraded flap is good... 38mm is ideal size.

was very costly getting it right :/
