Short answer. No they arent stock as a rock.

The only thing that would make them lower is all the crap they have to cart around.

Stock power. standard ride height

They are run in very well - I've just run a 13.59 in an 07 XR6T in manual mode on the ZF auto - only mods are f6 intake and K&N panel filter, first time ever at the strip. 105mph too!

I put it down to them not babying it from new as I've read that slows an engine down. Gives rise to the "police tune" myth I reckon.

As for your wheel being down to the canvas and the spare being blown - that would surely be their responsibility to make roadworthy at sale as tab said!

13.59 stock is good... But not special... It's right on where it should be... Not all police chasers would bef logged non stop...

Some guys have run 13 flat stock in bfs...

From reading the forums I was hoping for 13.8 so I'm pretty happy :w00t2:

Mine's not a 'chaser' as such, story goes it was a tow car. Same diff though!

Edit... Maybe if I could drop .3 from my 60' time, but I'm way too green for that sort of magic yet! Modding soon anyway muahaha...

None of the Police HWP vehicles are tuned up. The new XR6T's have a brembo brake package, that is it.

Each new model has to undergo extensive crash and stability testing with all the kit and 9 times out of 10 it is the brakes that fail.

Only mods done on the BF's were capacitor for all the electrics and Ultimate Bendix pads.

There is no chip, boost, box, suspension etc mods done.

Fords run Dunlops, Holdens run Potenza.

Holdens did get optioned with the FE2 suspension, that is IT!

All cars are flogged, bounced over stuff, driven and braked hard, only way job can be done, however every car is serviced and repaired VERY well as you have to trust your life in what is essentially a family car with flashing lights.

Just imagine a coroners inquest explaining why such and such was boosted up, over powered etc, contributing to a loss etc. Not going to happen, never has.

car has to be roadworthy, just call dept of fair trading and they will call the dealer on your behalf.

as for mods done to them I have delivered more then 60 xr6 and f6 to the police in NSW and all of them have been stock except the BA and BF had bigger brakes and the speedo on the dash was in 2km not 5km. this is an easy way to check if it is an ex chaser.

not sure about FG as I am now back in retail.

Seems common for inside of front tires to chop out early if the pressures are not kept ideal, my eagle f1's chopped out on the left front due to a slow leak causing a constant drop in pressure. When we replaced the tires we found a manufacturers sticker on the inside of the rim at the bead which had caused the tyre to be unable to seat airtight.

Whilst the cars are delivered stock, sources in government told me that they were led to believe, and they could be mislead, that, enterprising police officers seeking superior performance in the line of duty, have become versed in the art of, '...adding chips to the cars'...
