Hey Guy's

I have picked up a 1998 Fairlane by Tickford :ta: , My question the audio is pretty dam good standard and I want to know if you can separate the tape deck and what seems to be the AMP/EQ unit I would like to keep that in as the car has a 9 speaker system that bans pretty hard, but does not play MP3 or MP4 or DVD just CD stacker and tape.........Anyone???

Prob better of just buying one of those FM signal to AUX convertor and using an external MP3 player.

You just select the tuned radio frequency then and play away. Sound quality isn't the loudest though but still good enough for most.

Think Jaycar would sell them

Or you can buy DNA Audio IPod cable AIL003 and a couple of female RCA plugs.

Then use http://www.fordmods.com/documents.php?d=75 to build a AUX input into the factory head unit.

My change to this was to put 2 relays on the L and R channels to switch off input from the CD to AUX so you didnt have to worry about the blank CD thig.

Worked like a charm for 2 years for me, and cost about $40. Better sound quality than the B-Series AUX input stuff too.

If its a ZL or NL or whatever the series Fairlanes are around the EF series... Nope No Way!

Oh wait u said "Tickford" so its a i6 and called a Concord?

(Same as my old mans.... And his 72yo)... hehehehe

Anyways, its a double din system... lose the lot and replace it or keep it.. that's about it..
