mercuryturbo Oh look.... a real car, with no hair dryer Donating Members 1,724 Member For: 18y 6m 7d Gender: Male Location: Fear and Loathing in Callala Bay Posted 21/05/10 07:51 AM Share Posted 21/05/10 07:51 AM There's a couple of threads on here devoted to this but yes the mixer shaft is probably stripped.With the car parked in quiet place turn the heater dial to hot, if you can hear a faint whirring sound then the mixer shaft is cactus, if you dont hear the whirring then its most likely the HIM module.Either way its a dash-out job. ColinT Donating Members 372 Member For: 20y 16d Posted 22/05/10 06:05 PM Share Posted 22/05/10 06:05 PM Had exactly the same happen recently.As was said the dash has to come out and the control arm shaft replaced.It should have cost me $650 to have this done but as the car was 2 days out of its extended Ford warranty and I complained to Ford I only paid $325.
