Bf Arm Rest Silver Insert Wrinkled?

Searched the forums for an answer on this but didn't find anything relevant. If it has been discussed before it would be appreciated if you can link me to the thread.

I've recently purchased an 07 BF MK2 XR6T (frieking love it so far!). We also looked at a few other XR6Ts of similar vintage before settling on this vehicle. Something that all of them had though, was the silver insert on the front door armrests were wrinkled/bubbled on the front edge. For it to be on all 3 vehicles, I assume this is a fairly common problem?

Just wondering what people have done to resolve this? Can the silver inserts be replaced seperately to the armrests (and if so - how are they held on to the arm rests)? Does anyone sell aftermarket ones?

Its one of the very few blemishes on an otherwise spotless interior... And it looks like complete arse hence me wanting to fixx it. :)

thanks in advance.

cheers,

Moses

Attached a pic. Probably me just being anal, but it stares at me in the face every time I get in the car. The passenger door is a similar story.

Excuse the lack of window switches, the are out having getting LED'd up atm :)

Apparently it still has 6 months warranty left according to the seller.

that's another question... How does that work exactly? Do I need to fill out any forms with Ford to transfer the warranty (can it even be transferred??).

Many thanks for the quick replies btw.

Give your local dealer a call with the build date and possibly VIN. What is the build date BTW. If its june 07 0nwards it will still be under warranty required its under 100,000ks

Build date is Nov 07 with date of sale being 20/12/07 so she is still under warranty it seems. Have got a dealer just down the road from me so will stop in and pay them a visit as soon as I get the window switches back in.

Thanks for your help.

Quick picture of the car in question :)

Had the same problem on all 4 of mine. Ford replaced them under warranty. If its out of warranty, you can order them in.

Is / was it a car that lived outdoors mostly?

Just wonder if its something to do with sitting in the sun all day or heat in the cabin.
