My tuner wants to bore out my wastegate and put a button in - in order to control boost??

Has anyone else heard of this is there any disadvantages/advantages of doing this rather than 12lb actuator??

Car is holding 14psi pretty well actually but he wants to bring it back for abit of safety.. I have NFI

It's called porting the exhaust housing... do a search, it's a pretty common mod to do and will allow the turbs to be wound out to 19psi, and hold boost nice and tight with the right actuator.

button?? does he mean flapper valve? The porting is done at the exhaust port in the gate and a bigger flapper is fitted. I never heard of a button. The actuator is required because the stock spring cannot hold the bigger flapper shut. So actuator is upgraded with a stronger spring.

If you want to know what it looks like just lift the flusher lid from your toilet. :buttonit:
