Hi all

Lately I have been playin with the idea of trading my BF2 turbo sedan for something smaller and easier on the pocket (running, maintenance, insurance etc). However, to my shock I was given a trade-in value of 22-23K. Is that all these cars are worth? (BF2 sedan, ZF auto, dual climate, Premium sound, Tint, factory 18's). Its barely 3 years old.. forgot to add, its just clicked over 60K.

Looks as though I may keep it yet!

Redbook is bullsh*t. I love it when someone comes in quoting redbook. If they tell you its worth so much, go sell it to them...... (sarcasm).

Just remember at the end of the day, everyone has to pay someone..

If you want a fair idea, have a look at what they are selling for, not what people are asking for them. And then take off around 5k. that's around the trade in price you'll get. A dealer isn't going to give you what its worth on the private market or what he's going to sell it for. They make money from buying cars and selling them remember..

$23k is good trade in...

Might get $27k max if you sell it privately...

Mate had a 380rwkw BF2 with awesome 20s and couldn't get $29k for it...

The whole purpose of redbook is to give the buyer seller an idea. Its not like its gospel. :stirthepot:

I traded my 04 BA Auto somewhat Stock, and 105k on the clock. I got 18.5k. Did this at xmas. 22k seems real cheap, maby they taking you for a sucker? The dealer who I traded it to said there trade in prices are "BASED" of redbook. The douch I delt with even cranked out the site infront off me. I screwed my dealer hard...

Eaither way, my car went in with 2 buckled wheels, had a pod filter were the air box used to go because the platic growler one had a crack. I didnt notice that for months. No BOV. No spair wheel, jack, or locknut for the stock wheels. No books or service history, and no carpets in the boot.

After I found out about the wheels, and noticed the cracked airbox and the worrie of having a damaged turbo I decided to scrap it.

They obviously didnt check much, I told them if they gave me that price I would sign for a new car that day so they obviously rushed the whole thing. Got a new one now so woo hoo for me.

In short 22k is pretty sh*tty, work em hard.

My point exactly. Most people take it as gospel. Hell I even get the odd wanker bring a print-out of his car from redbook..

What people ask and what people get are a different story. BA's xr6t now go anywhere from 12k to 15k , the bfs 18-25k , depending on condition. Your car sounds real good though with nice low khs though , Just keep it. Or put a price you want for it and do not budge but it may not sell at all , may take 6 months or you could get someone who really wants it and is willing to pay your price (unlikely though).
