As some of you know, I ran an 11.949 at WSID before being asked to buy an ANDRA licence or leave on the night.

I chose not to buy the ANDRA licence on the night, as I don't know what I need to do, what my entitlements or benefits are with the licence, or if there's anything I need to modify/add to my car to get the ANDRA licence.

I've read of old posts on different forums stating you need a 4 point safety harness & a tail shaft loop if you run between 10.99 and 11.99 - these posts were from 2006 however.

What's the go with ANDRA log books also? Is this required for the 10.99 - 11.99 bracketed vehicles? If so, what's actually filled out, by who, when & why?

I had a look through the ANDRA website and could not find anything. I couldn't even find the period of licensing on the site - Is it a 12 month licence and then you have to renew again? The ANDRA website is pretty lame to be honest. You'd think that the Australian National Drag Racing Association website would be pretty in depth containing all policies & fact sheets.

On the upside, The forms were pretty easy to find though.

So apart from forking out $150, completing the application form & sending in a pic of myself, does anyone else know what is required when you run in the 11's?

I don't want to buy the licence and then find out that I need to do this and that to the car, which I may not get around to for X months.

All the questions... answers could not be found.

I hope I can get an in-depth view from some here who are more knowledgable on the topic.

Well when I ran my 11.97 they told me the same thing they told you. Buy a licence or no more runs, I bought the licence for $150 and they took a photo of me there at the track. It arrived in the mail a few days later. The licence is valid for 12 months. I dont have a logbook, I just told them when I was signing up that I did not have one and they said that's ok.

They told me I also had to have a 4 point harness which I did install the next time I showed up. However they did not check it through scrutineering and when I spoke briefly to JP last wed night he told me he does not have one despite running plenty of 11's.

I think you should get one just so they leave you alone. Just get the licence and dont do anything else. Oh and you also get $5 back from the $50 entry fee, so if you go to 30 meets in a year that's the licence paid for lol.

No John, you don't need a Log book till you you run 10.99 or quicker mate....

Thanks for the tip.....I'll be checking up on "JP" next time I'm out there :stirthepot:

Im sure some of you blokes think we make up these safety rules for the sake of something to do.....11 sec. ET's translate to well over 160ks+ terminals.

At those sort of speeds, if the unthinkable were to happen and the car headbutts the wall or turns over....we'd like to see you with a bit more protection than just a 3 point lap/sash belt.

Just don't let me catch you doing this....fellow forum member or not :roflmbo:

Oh, and external battery isolation switch.

Is this required?

You only need a battery isolation switch if;

You run quicker than 11.00 et.

You have a "competition only" vehicle.

You have relocated your battery.

Tailshaft loops are required on all cars 12.00secs and quicker.

Thanks for your help Reg.

So basically, all I need at this stage would be a tail shaft loop, 4 point harness and my license to go back to WSID.

Uh oh, what have I done. lol

Hey Reg, why didn't they check for a harness through inspection? I assume they are suppsoed to judging by your post? All they said I need to run in the 11 sec bracket is a harness and the licence, that was about 4 of them in the one room at wsid a few weeks ago.

John, I hooked up the shoulder straps to the rear parcel shelf where the baby seat gets secured to. The lap straps, one down on the seat rail mounting bold and one on the seat belt mounting bolt at the bottom of the B pillar.

Yep....and your good to go mate.....

F6turbo......its all good mate... :buttonit:

yeah, they should have checked, and they probably thought you already had a tailshaft loop :dontknow:

But I'm not sure about mounting to the seat base is all ??:dontknow:

I'd have to see it really.....

I'll try and get out there this Weds, but if not, I'll certainly be there on the 26th....I'm not hard to find, my cars usually parked out front of the scrutineering shed unless Im in the braking area....

See you guys out there :3gears:

I'm talking about the mounting bolt in the floor that anchors the seat rail at the back. It worked well last week apart when jumping into the car quickly and trying to put it on when your lane starts to move. They did not mention anything about a tailshaft loop, I dont think I saw any of them looking underneath any of the cars.

The next time I go out im taking my bike, can I use my andra super street licence to run under 10.5 on that? It would be pretty crap if you need to have 2 andra licences if you have a quick car and bike.
