Last night after getting my car prepared for calder I decided to test to see if I can get enough boost off the line and doing so Snapped the tailshaft and twisted it like a twistie! And that was only at 9PSI . I now need to get a strenthened one made up and was wondering if anyone could recommend someone and would know of the cost to do ??

Cheers

Found a place in Brisbane but that's not going to help you.

With all that power mate it was a given you would twist it first time that you launched it.

Im pretty lazy on launching mine and still notice that theres not much strength to it.

Mal Wood Auto in Warwick can build a HP tailshaft ( rated at 900 HP ) using only premium quality components and chrome moly tube, this premium tailshaft will cost $2350.

If you would like a photo just email me, I just can't get it on this forum for some reason!!!!

Regards, Mal

Sorry to steal you thred Shananp, although I have a clunking tailshaft in my FG manual, sounds grizzly, but only seems to be in first gear. Sounds like metal on metal but the Ford stealership are saying that its fine. Doesn't sound fine to me.... Anyone had problems with the Manual driveline?

I bought a manual this time round, mainly because I thought it would be easier to replace clutch plates than having the whole box refreshed as with my old BA, and the fact that I missed a manual......
