I was only 1/4 to 1/2 throttle max. I tried to avoid hitting the oncoming car but my rear quarter panel hit. I then went onto the turf farm and slid for a while as it was very wet from cold nights. Luckily no one was hurt and the police didn't even give me any fines or charges, they completely understood my rear wheel story. My wife included my car into a bundled up AAMI policy with her car and house, I have heard horror stories about AAMI repairers and need to ask if anyone here if they have had their pride and joy repaired by AAMI and if so were you happy and who did the work?I am in Nth West Sydney and know of really good repairers but AAMI may not accept their quote.I really don't want a crap job and then to spend months trying to get AAMI to re-repair the vehicle.Cheers

I have all the documentationand the hail by paintless repair technicians at a hired facility ( due to the volume of cars) at Casle Hill. Both repairs came back better than new. Service was first class all the way. Couldn't fault them. Recommend them 100%BTW The Co-Ordinator at the Seven Hills repair facility was a cutie as well

However already missing the car badly, I have resorted to driving a VE SS which just doesn't have the kick of the turbo...

I get sick and tried of people coming on here telling their crash story, which is CLEARLY their own fault and somehow try and explain how it wasn't! "there was a funny coloured tree on the other side of the road and it startled me, so it MUST be all the council's fault. I'm suing"

Some are easy going and good, others are nothing short of tight arses. As for the preferred repaired... Simply take the car to the repairer of your choice and tell AAMI that this is where you want the car to go...They will feed you full of sh*t that the car needs 2 quotes, and qill not be repaired by anyone that is not on "THEIR" preferred suppliers list... Just laugh and remind they of the insurance code of conduct...YOU have the choice of repairer... It is up to the insurance company and the panel shop to work out the finer details...Do not let the bastards walk all over you 'if' they try... Stand your ground... if you need to file a dispute or report - do so... it may slow the process down and make getting around harder - but in the end you will get what you want... If you can try to avoid taking the car to the AAMI centre... rather get your preferred shop to quote on it and then find someone else that is even higher and present those two quotes...AAMI is a GIO company, which is also owned by Suncorp... For what im told, AAMI/GIO are in some serious trouble recently, and especially AAMI back at there old tricks or sending the car to whoever is the cheapest quoter...Long in short what the centre does is takes the cars for a day, allows for a heap of panel shops to walk in look over the cars then present a quote... they also have a system where preferred panel shops log in see pics and quote from what they see... again whoever is cheapest - regardless of quality of shop, or anything as such, quality of work or whatever... your the cheapest - job is all yours!Simple as that... and yes, plenty of evidence to support all of these claims...
