Talking to them, they dont know of a way to change the head unit or would want to as it controls air conditioning etc. You wouldnt really want to change it.Anyway they spoke of updating all the speakers in the car to the new pioneer speakers having 2 x 12" MTX Subwoofers and 2 x high powered MTX amplifiers, and creating a special subwoofer enclosure carpeted in the same carpet as the boot and up the level where it drops down (if you look inside your boot). They spoke about a custom perspex and wood box with the ford logo etched into the perspex and blue neon's lighting up the ford logo. Total price for upgrade $3500. Would be interesting to see what other places can do..or would be willing to do. They said though this would be an awesome system and would be competition grade. dont know how the head unit would handle it though.. The last time I checked the amp alone was about upwardes of $1200.00.Avoid using any type of box that converts high level inputs into low level RCA outputs, the sound quality will suffer. Just be careful and make sure you do your research especially if you going to spend $3500.00. Take this advise only if you are really serious about installing a compertition quality sound system. Another option that may be worth looking into is to have a cd player installed in your glove box and bypass the whole standard system, it might even be more cost effective this way.Get another opinion there is another good installer at balmain down the road from balmain leagues club on the same side of the road, cant think of the name, sorry. I believe the premium sound is not an option in the UTE..?? The only option in the ute (as I now know) is the Prestige and that really only gives you a 6 stacker.Damn, I really wanted the colour display! Guest raoulc Guests Posted 23/01/03 10:29 PM Share Posted 23/01/03 10:29 PM I've got the Premium sound in mine and it sounds pretty good. Unfortunately I don't use it a lot cause I love the sound of the turbo engine. Its like music to my ears. BTW can the note of the exhaust or the exhaust system be modified in anyway without the warranty being compromised? Anyone know?
