Definitely a good showing from the trusty Taxi mate! I was down there with a mate's GT-R, ran 10.60@140mph with a very slow (slight bogging) 1.8 launch - needless to say that was his 1 and only run for the night as he was promptly ordered to go away and not come back until he has a cage, parachute, harness and ANDRA license...

There was a good showing of 6T's out there and it was good to see I'm not the only one that struggles to get a manual down the strip! lol

Loved seeing all those XRs/F6s last night, I would definatly be in for a forum drag night. There was a heap of holdens last night too (anyone see that dark blue station wagon run a 10.8) imagine the mrs taking the kids to school in that hahaha.

Hey John who built your box?? I was walkin the staging lanes and seen you but I wasnt sure if you were off the forum or not, nice passes too.

Hey Guys,

Took the taxi out last night to test the rebuilt 4sp...

The track was very slippery to start off with with most cars struggling to put any power to the ground. I did not think that the old Maxxis were going to produce any decent numbers. The first pass was a waste of time. I wheelspun past 1/2 track, put it in 4th and pushed through for a 14.3 @ 115MPH 2.8s 60' !!

The track got better and better throughout the night. I ran ... 12.8@121MPH, 12.2@122, 11.4@122, 11.5@123 all with a 1.9Xs 60' wheel-spinning as it come on boost off the line.

Then finally, the last pass of the night I got a clean launch and ran a 11.2@124MPH 1.86s 60'. Close but no 10s pass. Not bad for the two year old 19" Maxxis. I was surprised how good they still are !!

The auto feels strong, good firm changes into 2nd & 3rd. I'm looking forward to sorting out the wastegate, getting the extractors back on and put on some fresh rubber.

It was good to see about 10 XR6/F6s out there having some fun. A few guys from the forum but I'm not sure how they ran !?! ...

We should try organize a few forum drag nights. Who is up for it?

You don't need to push to break records or do a pb every time you go out... just get out there, relieve some stress and have some fun.

Great effort John I was out there last night in the Mercury xr6 t red plates, I saw a couple of your runs and you can tell she's got some go in her. I set my own PB on run 4 but only after a quick consultation with Big Jon and dropping the rear Tyre pressures. Thanks again Big John not only for the use of your gauge but for the tip to actually drop the pressure. Was out last night to break into the 12's cause last time I went (which was my 1st time) I did a best of 13.2 but after run 4 and half decent launch I managed a 12.6 @ 112mph (2.1 60ft). Man I was stoked cause all I've done to the car is flashed her changed the injectors and had tune and for 270 rwkws and almost a mid 12 well I'm very happy!

Yeah that blue wagon had a massive turbo hanging off it and yes it was weapon quick. I like how he's first 3 runs he had 2 working head lights and then from the 4th run on the right one was completely removed which uncovered a big round snails mouth!

That's some good work Vevapower, taking half a sec of your previous best. And that's your car in my display pic behind mine the last time we were both at wsid.

I missed the GTR that would have been good !!! ... I'm going out in the Manual FG next week so we will see if I can drive a manual.
