I dont know who came up with this retarded idea but the friggin idiot need to be shot.... :fool:

A set of lights pulling up traffic to a stand still 50 meters or so before a lane of traffic travelling at 100k's an hour.

$100 friggin Million dollars has been spent on this roll out across the ring road and the only thing I see it doing is an increase in the number of rear enders. :innocent:

Vent off... :dontknow:

They've had them at Montague St ramp getting on to the Westgate (west-bound) for ages now - reckon it adds a minimum of 5 minutes to my journey. Doesn't sound like long but imagine all the extra pollution of having thousands of cars on the road, in stop-start traffic, for an extra 5 minutes! Of course, I don't give a rats about that - it is just effing frustrating.

They are a dead set joke - I'm sure they'll tell us that they help to avoid crashes etc... why don't we just take the warning labels off things and let mother nature run its course?! If people can't merge onto a slow-moving (cos let's face it, they are only in action during peak hour when the traffic is doing closer to 40 than 100) without crashing then they don't deserve to have a licence.

They're f*cking everywhere. If they taught people how to merge when getting their license then there'd be no need for them. Instead they give people like 200m to get up to 100k's to merge. 1/2 the cars and every truck or bus that stops there completely ruins the flow of traffic coz they can't get up to speed.

Whoever rolled out that idea is a bunch of ducks :hmmm:

You should try the westbound Todd Road / Shell servo entrance.

With all the new works, they have decided to try and merge 5 entry lanes into 1, about 75 to 100m before merging onto the freeway at the base of the bridge. They have 2 sets of these stupid lights that flash alternately to try and control the traffic flow.

First time I went through there it took me nearly 40 mins to get onto the freeway. I have since learnt better.

The theory is that it keeps the traffic flowing :buttrock:

Have you started getting traffic lights on roundabouts down there yet?

Jewels is onto the right idea, I was thinking the same....... dont think anything will match the mighty Big Vic Weekend 1.

I thought they were just another excuse to give it large from a set of lights?
