Wow, very nice mainline. I have very similar mods except for the chip. What costs are involved with the chip and what sort of boost are you running atm?

BLKXRT, would you know what costs are involved with bigger injectors. The actual injector cost and then the fitting cost please?

Thanks guys. B)

geea ... hows things mate ? well I hope

the injectors are a sore point lately, the best ones are far too pricie and the ok ones need far to many mods to get them to fit (cut leads etc), which makes them pricie too .... as well as dodgie to some extent :)

will check the latest news on the injectors with Mark (Dynomotive) this morning. He was trying to source a couple of new ones recently...

the injectors at the 240-280rwkw become absolutely critical... that's why I resting on 240rwkw and when I'm confident we got a "good" injector which is best value all round I'll share it and let you know :)

no news is safe news (who said that  )

the key thing to remember is that once you have access to the boost ... it is as easy as pie to simply turn her up !!!! sure it will run ... sure it fell like a cut snake crossed with a cut cat .... but for how long? 10secs 10mins 10days no way am I going back to Ford with warranty items that related to my over enthusiasim

Hey buddy, all good here.

Thanks for the info on the injectors, I look forward to hearing when you source some decent ones at the right price.

I think I read on here somewhere that you are doing some bonnet mods. Love to know what, when and what sort of price.

I am talking to the Melbourne tuner of Chiptorque atm, they are fitting an Excide (spelling) chip atm and he's going to let me know the results. The car has an exhust done so far. Is it someone from here?????

Not wanting to steal your thunder

No worries BLOAN! Nice piccs, hope they assist others, it is an easy mod.

As I said, I saw a dyno increase from 206 to 223 rwkw (17rwkW) with this mod, using the stock XR6T filter element. Would be more with a better filter, but I dont know exactly what improvement. My dyno with the K&N was also done with the Xede processor installed.

BLOAN, let us know how you go with your intake mod, hope it all goes well.

56 mainline

I have just soarced the parts to do my cold air intake.

the total cost on parts was $10.00 for the pipe fitting and

the xr8 tube was free after talking to a local work shop that fits the new ss induction kits to gt's. they are throwing the intake tubes in the bin.

can you tell me what you used to cut the hole in the box.

I mentioned that I installed a boost gauge. Well, I thought I would provide a photo of the gauge installed to the dash.

The reason: I dont think anyone else has yet carved into their Falcons dash yet! Let me just say that it took a bit of courage to sink the stanley knife into the plastic!

Can also post a photo from the driver's view point if anyone is interested...

1AXR > damn, you got your bits cheap! Good on ya!

Once the xr8 intake had it's end cut off, then jammed into the rubber fitting, the fitting sort of ovalled out, at the end that would go into the airbox (hope you get my drift).

used this as a template to trace onto the side of the airbox.

Drilled a large diameter hole to accept a hack saw blade. Started cutting.

Got impatient, got out the drill again, used about a 3/16" drill steel and drilled a series of closely spaced holes just inside of the tracing. Then knocked out the centre. Tidied up the edge with a file. Easy as, took maybe 20 minutes to make the hole from whoa to go.

Just ensure the hole diameter is something less than the diameter of the recess in the rubber.

Cheers...

thanks mate.

have you taken out the ribbing inside the box.

I did this on my auxr8 and got alot more air flow.

just a thought.

Naa, left the ribbing alone (actually, didn't even consider this!).

It probabaly would be beneficial, but I'm not trying for any more horses now, as far more expensive modifications would be needed.
