Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 13/10/03 05:45 AM Share Posted 13/10/03 05:45 AM ....the exede ....was it just there Stage 1 ?Mmmmm yes, but figures quoted on internet etc are based on a stock car.Do a few other mods and the Tuner can get different power figures.what boost you are running?8.1 to 8.4 psi at the manifold, depending on ambient conditions (air temp, barometric pressure, air density). See spikes to 9psi on occassion....chiptorqe.....who done it as I live in sydney?Scotts Dyno-Tune in Mayfield (suburb of Newcastle, home of the mighty Knights!).Chiptorque also has a dealer in Sydney suburb of Silverwater, details on their web page.I'll bet you're grinning like the cat that ate the budgy. :laughtcont:

Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 13/10/03 06:03 AM Share Posted 13/10/03 06:03 AM good mods and good figures ... but I reckon you might be running on the edge... injectors/pump/zorst are really important for reliability and maintainability, without them at the level you are now is dicey for a prelonged period of timeI like to push the envelope...to the EDGE!!! B) Nah, but really, I was told by the Tuner that the injectors are at their limits in this application. They believe all will be OK and within safe parameters even with more kms both on the fuel pump (pressure degrades over time/kms/age) and the injectors (dirty injectors therefore less fuel therefore lean mix).Never the less, I did experience some fuel cut due to overboost caused by boost creep. We couldn't find the cause for this, some twiddling of the Xede to bring the boost back even further than original set as a safety margin.Installed boost gauge is to monitor for boost creep again. The air/fuel ratio set in the Xede (as set for my car) is set to reduce the factory settings by approx 10 to 20%, depending upon MAP, MAF and throttle position. These cars are running pretty rich!A by-product of all this is not just the peak power, but my power & torque before boost and at low boost is up above standard. Additionally my cold idle speed is lower (not it's not so loud when I kick her in the guts in the mornings). Also, and it may be just me, but I swear the car is running smoother at idle, at pre-boost revs, and in just-on-throttle cruising. The only downsides are that you need to wait a moment on start-up whilst the processor powers-up and is ready to start intercepting (a couple of seconds), and the car seems harder to start. It takes a bit more time with the starter motor going before the girl fires-up.
Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 13/10/03 06:10 AM Share Posted 13/10/03 06:10 AM I'll get some pictures this evening of all that I think is relevant.Be prepared for a dirty T, it's been 1.5 weeks since it's had a bath, it's currently drizzling on and off, and I am traveling to/from work on roads that are used to truck coal.....sometimes the duco ain't a pretty sight!
