from the few options I have found in 275 19 30 or 285 19 30, these 2 tyres seem to be the best I can find in my price range

HANKOOK K104 VS KUMHO KU31

I have been quoted $270 a corner for the KUMHO KU31 (I am leaning towards these)

how do these tyres rate?

or are there any other options people recomend? under $300....

The kumho's are a good tyre. I had them on a previous car and they were quite grippy. I wanted to get them on my current car but when I needed them they were out of stock.

You may need to make sure they have stock first as I was told that there had been issues with supply

Wouldnt touch either - go the Falkin!

if not had Kumho - they were rubbish!!!

19" - they were just like driving on ice - far to hard and slide everywhere...

Give the Hankooks a run and tell the rest of us what u think.. :)

Both the KU31 and K104 aren't bad for the price.

In that price range look at the Sumitomo HTR Z III too. Many people swear by them!!

If I were you though, I'd order from tirerack in the USA.

I've onto my second set of 4. Deliver in about 10 days to your door. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric are my choice for the street.

For similar cash (and with the current exchange rate), you could get something a lot higher quality like Advan Neova's or Bridgey Re11's!!!!

I ordered a pair of 17 inch KU31s delivered to my door for $300. They hold the stock power nicely, most I could get was a 1-2 chirp from them and only if I shifted just right on the ZF. Excellent value at $150 each. Should be able to get 19's for less than your quoted price!

just noticed the width you are chasing - might put it up a bit.

Option1 garage (online/email/phone/CC) is where I got mine. The site doesn't list prices for the 31's now (email/call them) but I'm going back to them first when I need another pair, or KU36's if I decide to go that way. So cheap I can't NOT look at them. Very helpful via email about the types of tyres and their intended purposes too.

If I could have picked them up myself over east it would have been $250! Shipped to WAWA land to my door for $50 the pair.

how are the postage charges from the US?

-SteveR-, did you get yours from the same place? good price!

4 X 245/45 18" tyres cost me about $200USD delivery to Sydney.

At the time the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics were only $190usd ea!!!!...obviously more for wide 19", but I'd hate to ask what retail is on top shelf 285's in Australia!!

With the exchange rate around 90c, it saved me close to $1000. Even with gst, delivery etc

Retail on the F1's was around $600 ea. in Australia at the time.

On the site you can't use your credit card though. I had to email one of the reps individually, go to the bank and do an international transfer.

Do the sums, but in the end it was cheaper depending on the rate. I think another user here Des Flurane buys from tirerack too.

PM me if you need more details.

Mate in a few weeks I might have that nizpro crossover pipe your chasing...

Also, with the tyre website tirerack, how do you go about getting them to ship to aus? do you have to ring them direct? There prices are awesome.
