I was talking to a guy yesterday who claims that if I wana go to 300 or above Rwkw's then being an 03 model 4 speed auto that the rods and pistons arnt likely to hold out for very long as its just to much power for the model? any thoughts on that???

he is right.

when pushing overt 300rwkw in a BA its almost like a granade. Depends on the tune, and if you dont have a surge tank...it can blow any time you give it stick at any moment. Search how many rod's have snapped for BA ownerd just on this forum. HEAPS. Im one of them.

Stick to 300rwkw on the dyno, get a surge tank, and prayyou have a good tuner. valve springs, fuel pump and a high cat are all you should need with more boost. I advise dont go over 15psi.

herrod is good. Stick with them.

Else come on the other side and go to PitLane Performance in Frankston. Mick knows his stuff and also a member here.

Hence my list above. Being an early BA you want to make sure that all the supporting mods will take strain of the engine. So a high flow exhaust and cooler kit are a must. Sure you can make 300 with less mods but how many psi would you need to push to make the power?
