I feel for you buddy that is terrible. Was told I would have to wait 4 weeks for my fg xr6t and ended up waiting 10, twice they told me it would definitely be there on a certain date only to be told that it wasn't. Was devastated the first time, pissed off the second time and didn't even believe them/wasn't even that excited anymore when they told me it had finally arrived.

On a side note, what colour etc is your new F6, am interested to know what you feel makes it 'a little different'?

Best of luck bud

This is really shocking!

Not something you want to experience at all.

My bet is the car has been sold?

Funny you should say that Corzza, that is EXACTLY what they did to me after I had signed the contract! The salesman I dealt with would look great wearing fire. Then he tried to flog me all manner of colours except the colour I wanted, then when that failed he tried to push an (I shiver as I say it) XR8 on me! Haha! Farkwit!

But seriously mate hope it all works out for you!

mate, order the car from a local dealer. as close as possible so u can keep an eye on it. if I were u I would not touch that car now. whether they have done somethin real bodgey or not, (could be 100% genuine) it would still be enough to put me off.

Mate, id be making sure that the dealer is aware of your frustration.

Give them one last chance to true things around and offer something in the form of a half way sorry. If nothing else. So have a think about what you may actually want - otherwise your just wasting your time, and leave it at a whine and nothing more. If it turns out they just FOB you off again then see if the local newspaper is interested in a editorial letter. Forward a copy of the paper to the directors of the Dealership also, along with Fords Marketing Dept. :innocent:

I wouldn't worry to much about any repairs, you can normally check the car pretty easy for any repairs. You could simply drop it off to a panel shop that knows what they are doing and ask them to take a look. Do this straight away, that way if there is any signs, then you an simply pose the question - how is this so, and if they advise nothing happened it your doing, request an explanation of how so, considering the car is only 2 days or whatever in your possession.

As for customer service, I remember the day I walked into Alto and said - Hi guys, Micky. They knew already as a friend from another Alto division had called to advise. I had also had a call from the General Manager of the Ford dealership, the min I got out of my car, and walked in, smiles, handshake, and we walked over to the Audi/BMW site and grabbed coffee. The rest was all smiles, and from start to finish couldn't have been happier. In the end not only did the deal, but transfered the finance over to there boys, and 3 months later walked back in and bought Da Gurlys XR5 as well. Finance again etc.

Since that day have passed no less then 10 dealers to Alto, of which 6 have been Ford.

Despite the over priced servicing, all done at Alto... and any Panel work - Alto Panel Shop... Both personal and business related...

So its interesting where good customer service can take a business, and where it can simply end you in the poo...

Just shows how important it is to pick your salesman and dealership carefully. People underestimate how important that is. There's always going to be good ones and bad ones. If I was you I wouldn't worry about it now. You live you learn. Just check the car over when you get it. If there are any problems, such as scratches or dents, make sure you inform them and ask them how to go about getting it fixed.

Cheer's for the kind words guys.

Interesting post this one.

no offence but a lift to the airport? never going to happen, I stil havent got my compendium after 18months.

contract is only for the sale of the car I would expect, therefore as mentioned to him on numerous occations from the dealership he could drive it back, I.e the dealership completed the sale and fulfilled its obligations.

and get them to organise to freight it, lucky that you even got them to do that.

You say you were told it would be on the next availble truck across, which turned out to be a week, fairly reasonable timeframe if you ask me, frieghting a car, isnt like catching a bus I.e. leaves everyday that you can just chuck your car on in a whim. I have trained one back from syndey that took 2 weeeks and driven 4 across (learnt my lesson from the first experience). what did they get apart from the sale of the car for their efforts of freighting it? nothing?

also, is it registered there and did you pay stamp duty over there?

I didn't say that they had to give me a lift, which they didn't, but it would have been a nice gesture considering I was interstate and had no obligation to take the risk and purchase the car from them. They are fortunate to have had the particular spec and colour combination I was after at the right price, otherwise I would not have considered doing this at all. I have had other dealerships perform good deeds and this was one of those situations where it would have been good. It didn't bother me that much at the time, but thinking back it seems like a bit of a precursor to where I'm at now.

When I signed up, the salesman TOLD me that transport was not going to be an issue. When you order something online or over the phone, it is not luck that gets it to your door. It is that fact that you have entered into a binding an agreement with the company (written or verbal) that the product you have purchased is sent to you via the transport method outlined in the initial agreement. That means that it becomes their 'obligation' to send it. It is also unreasonable to expect that I should wait 5 weeks (not 1 week) from the initial date of purchase for it to finally have been loaded into the freighting system. These are car dealers, they do not wait a week to move a car. If a dealership needed a car for a sale, it would be sent today or tomorrow. It may wait in the freighting yard for an undisclosed period of time however, but most have 10 working days to get it to where it needs to go. My car will be 10 days from one week after I called them. I have seen how fast they can move, and this was again, just poor service.

What does the dealer get out of freighting the car, you ask? They get a sale. They get paid. Its simple business. If you go to any dealership and tell them that they have the potential to sell a car and make money, on the proviso that they have to organize freight, I guarantee you - they will do it every time. Some will do it as part of the deal, others (as in my case) require you to pay for the freight as an extra. I have done this a couple of times before and it has never been an issue.

It is not registered in Vic, it was sold unregistered to be registered in WA. Stamp duty to be paid in WA.

On a side note, what colour etc is your new F6, am interested to know what you feel makes it 'a little different'?

Best of luck bud

Its colour is mystic, and it comes without the rear spoiler. Both my mrs and I said that was a no-brainer. We're not a fan of spoilers on utes. Not outrageously different, and I'm sure I would have been happy with a White/Black/Blue/Red one with a spoiler but I haven't seen any Fords around in this colour. And I like the colour a lot.

The vehicle in question:

Oh mate poor you. I really feel for you.

I would be tearing my hair out and kicking the dog by now. I think you have been more reasonable and patient than anyone I know would be.

That is the best FG F6 ute I have ever seen. Best ute full stop.

What goes around comes around and with your patience and attitude, that should be the best car Ford Aus has ever built. And it will be.

Congrats mate well done.
