that's pretty poor Deebs1990 regardless of your age hey. I had just turned 20 when I ordered my FG XR6T but had been in contact with the dealership while I was 19. They most certainly knew my age from the beginning but nevertheless they treated me with the same repect I imagine they would have conveyed to a 30 or 40 something customer and I couldn't get away from them! Salesmen were literally lining up to serve me the first time I went to the dealership. They immediately memorised my name and my girlfriends name, took both our phone numbers and when they couldn't contact me, they would ring and even message her! The fact that this service was afforded to two 19 year old kids after only initially expressing a slight interest in the car is commendable. The vehicle delivery on the other hand...that is another story. They also showed real enthusiasm for the vehicle itself and seemed genuinely excited that I was considering one at my age. Age really should never jeaporadize customer service, last time I checked a 20 year old's hard earned is worth the same as a 40 year old's. Salesmen in particular should be able to determine who are prospective customers and who are wasting their time and once that distinction is made every customer should be treated the same. I guess the saleswoman you were unfortunate enough to deal with on that saturday had already reached her monthly quota!

Same thing happened to me, twice.. I believe I was 19 when I went to buy an 07 XR6 Turbo, no one really approached me for a good 30 minutes, they all looked at me and just kept walking around (Might have something to do with the fact that I've been told I look 16). First person that approached me got the sale, turned out to be a really nice guy as well. Second time I was getting my XR6 Turbo serviced and decided to have a walk around the car yard when I came across an 05 Typhoon, was my dream car. Was sitting in it, having a look around, but no one would approach me. After a while someone finally approached me and the next day he had his sale.

Well I finally picked up the Ute, Wednesday just gone. I'm totally stoked, it is a truly awesome machine to look at and drive. Even the rego process was a downer though, with a massive glut of cars coming in over the pits for inspection once it arrived meant I had to wait a couple of days to get it through. Its all done now and I'm loving it!

Couple of quick questions though. What is the F6's max boost? The boost gauge in the car is only showing 0.6bar max - is this normal? I have read online it should be around 0.9bar?

Also, do these cars have launch control? Again I have read online that the XR6T has it (there is a youtube video of it around somewhere of Ford doing some demo's), but I can't really find any good info about this feature and whether it has it.

Mate, the gauge is about as accurate as wetting your finger and sticking it out the window.

The launch control is on the manuals. Push clutch in, stick in 1st, floor the throttle it should hold the rpm at 4,000. Drop the clutch and you are on your way.

Looks like a beast, well done and all the crap you went through will be forgotten in a few days of driving. :stirthepot:

Ahh ok guys, cheer's for the heads up.

Bummer about the gauge, I thought it was a nice addition. How hard is it to get it reading more accurately, aside from installing an aftermarket unit?

I read the manual and it detailed stuff about the launch control. I should have read it first before posting...

Looks like a nice buy!

Re freight - trucks usually go once or twice a week, and 90% of the time, the first 2 trucks are booked out.. Hence them saying 'first available'.

To all you guys going on about not being served and being judged by looks there is always 2 sides.

Not being served - sometimes we don't look busy but we're running around with our heads cut off for a customer 200km out of town getting trade prices while making sure our sale sitting in the finance office isn't going to walk without signing a contract etc.

As for being pre-judged, that's just f*cked. I never judge someone by looks. Most of the FPV's I've sold have been to farmers and young blokes. Funny actually, the 2 FPV deals that have fallen over on me were both 'highrollers'. One rocked up in a hummer and suit, failed hardcore on finance. Lol.

Anyway, sounds like you had a hard time man. Hope its all worth it!

sales staff need to be on there toes...I went to a ford dealer also to buy a 2006 f250 for work, wearing shorts and tee shirt, they had in there yard last year...went with my girlfriend, check the truck, got inside, popped the bonnet etc, I wanted it..no one came out, I went inside to ask, girl said would send a sales guy out, 20 minutes later still noone... so I left and bought a f250 for $70000, the next day from carsales... :spoton:
