Where we live atm you cannot fly a kite or radio controlled aircraft without a permit. This is in the city of Casey. They have taken some laws and bi-laws just too far. My daughter could go down the park and happily flying her kite and cop a $200+ fine for enjoying herself and flying a kite. Whilst some other tool is off scott free shooting up around the corner! We are becoming the nanny state if not already. This bi-law is a bloody joke! LINK HEREAnother one I just seen is you can't pitch a tent in your back yard without a permit in Werribee??? WTF??? Tell us your stories of bad laws or bi-laws that you know of or had to of dealt with here or overseas. Edited 11/05/10 11:18 AM by GR8XR6

You would need to get public liability insurance, wear a flourescent jacket whilst "flying", have an interlock device on the kite just in case you have had a drink before operating it and have orange safety cones around the permitted area. Alternatively get rid of Casey Council and the "Casey Community Safety Manager" They seem to be Brumby disciples.that's the way were headed... Poor bastard hit a cow and wrote of his car...but the bovine had right of way so he had technically committed an offence and the c*ntstable gave him an infringement notice.
