OK. Where we live atm you cannot fly a kite or radio controlled aircraft without a permit. This is in the city of Casey.

They have taken some laws and bi-laws just too far. My daughter could go down the park and happily flying her kite and cop a $200+ fine for enjoying herself and flying a kite. Whilst some other tool is off scott free shooting up around the corner!

We are becoming the nanny state if not already. This bi-law is a bloody joke! bangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gif

Another one I just seen is you can't pitch a tent in your back yard without a permit in Werribee??? WTF??? bangcomputer.gifbangcomputer.gif

Tell us your stories of bad laws or bi-laws that you know of or had to of dealt with here or overseas.

Myself and my 2 daughters are past members of the Redcliffe (Qld) Kite Club...

We actually have Permits and liabillty insurance specificly for kite flying and can fly a kite Australia wide.

Even in Casey...

We could allow kite flying but have restictions. You would need to get public liability insurance, wear a flourescent jacket whilst "flying", have an interlock device on the kite just in case you have had a drink before operating it and have orange safety cones around the permitted area. Alternatively get rid of Casey Council and the "Casey Community Safety Manager" They seem to be Brumby disciples.

that's the way were headed...

Don't know if it's still in existence, but years ago a friend booked for not giving way to livestock.

Poor bastard hit a cow and wrote of his car...but the bovine had right of way so he had technically committed an offence and the c*ntstable gave him an infringement notice.
